HummuH 10 Posted May 9, 2012 Videos from the 2nd race weekend: Sports & Saloons Quali: Sports & Saloons Race 1: Sports & Saloons Race 2: 1. I need new brakes. Passenger side front disc keeps warping for some reason, likely a sticky piston. Calipers may need a rebuild. 2. I need to man up in the first few laps! 3. I need a new start procedure. 4. I need a longer 2nd gear. Had a good tussle in the first race and accidentally side tapped the Fisher Fury at one point, oops!
HummuH 10 Posted July 15, 2014 Wow, haven't updated this in a while. Now got a trusty 20vT under the bonnet courtesy of Jabba, Quaife Tran-X diff and new AST coilovers. Mighty fine job they did too. Here's a wee vid from the weekends racing at Knockhill having some fun with another Corrado, Escort Cossie and Impreza.
GrahamU 6 Posted July 15, 2014 great vid, whats the spec of the engine now you have a 20vT
HummuH 10 Posted July 16, 2014 Was a custom build from Jabba so spec list is huge but highlights are: Forged JE Pistons - 82.5mm Scat H-beam Rods Gasflowed Head Inconel and Nimonic valves Uprated bearings and bolts all round Elring Bottom End Gaskets Baffled Sump Turbo - IHI VF22 Hybrid JabbaSport Exhaust Manifold - Ceramic and ported Turbo Intake Pipe - CNC Adapter & Silicone Intake New Turbo Downpipe 550cc Injectors with adaptors Bosch 044 Uprated Fuel Pump Emerald K6 ECU running switchable maps Engine was built to take high power but with the intention being to run it at lower power to keep reliability for racing. After run in, it was mapped to approx 370 bhp and 360 lb/ft torque. Now things have loosened up a bit, it feels a bit more punchy and I will try and take it up to c. 400 bhp over the winter. HummuH 10 Posted August 18, 2014 Not a huge amount to report. Some general tidying up, refresh of the brakes, experimenting with set-up, tyre sizes, types etc. Good news is the car is getting faster, new PB at Knockhill at the weekend: A quick pic before we headed off to the track:

Jim 2 Posted August 18, 2014 Corrado's always look excellent done up as racing cars - this is no exception. Love it! I have a vague recollection I might have seen this thing at a track day in the rain at Mallory Park in 2007? It was a force to be reckoned with and was outpacing most other stuff on the track.. coullstar 0 Posted August 19, 2014 The best thing is it looks relatively standard compared to the splitterd and winged other cars. Going to start mucking about with aero?
HummuH 10 Posted August 19, 2014 The best thing is it looks relatively standard compared to the splitterd and winged other cars. Going to start mucking about with aero? No, no plans to go all aero on it. If I did, I'd have to change the class that I race in which would mean moving to slicks, composite panels etc. No point and personally I feel a better set up is worth more time than any aero on a saloon at Knockhill. Plan is to "Berg Cup" the car this winter which will allow me to increase the track at the same time as some further weight reduction and engine enhancements. coullstar 0 Posted August 19, 2014 Fair enough. Berg cup corrado sounds ace. Heres the one thats been done, hope your Germans good - http://www.speedweek.com/bergrennen/news/27605/Oberhallau-2012-Part-12.html

HummuH 10 Posted September 17, 2014 A couple of updates, first one from Cadwell Park: NSSCC - Cadwell Park 30th/31st August 2014 - Race 1 A few of the Scottish Saloons regulars made our way down to Cadwell to race with the DDMC Northern Sports & Saloons at the British Karting GP at the wekend. We were joined by a few other SMRC cars and NSSCC regulars, Paul Brydon's M3, Andrew Morrison's Supercopa and Colin Simpson's Marcos. Had a good start and got to 3rd but red flag reset the grid and a Metro filled the open space ahead of me on the restart. Another good start but had to back off due to car in front. Finished 4th after a good race keeping a 4x4 Sierra Cosworth behind. This was about to cause a bit of a brown pant moment: Race 1 Video: [video=youtube;PBnQmPy-Js0]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBnQmPy-Js0=
HummuH 10 Posted September 17, 2014 NSSCC - Cadwell Park 30th/31st August Race 2 Started 6th again in 2nd race. Good start and got into 3rd after the Metro failed to show for the start. Held 3rd place fighting off the fastest Citreon Saxo in the world and a 4x4 Sierra Cosworth. Saxo got me at Mountain after I went a bit wide. Then this happened: Got very sideways going into Park when braking from 130mph chasing the Saxo. Just held it and went on to the grass. 10 seconds into the "is my car broken" phase, left the door open for the Cossie to go through. Had a good tussle with him for the last couple of laps which included me rear ending him when he missed a gear going into the final corner. Finished 5th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geZOkv7p5aQ=24 Great weekend, great track, great weather and great company. Well worth the trek down and probably just pips Oulton for my favourite away track so far.
HummuH 10 Posted September 17, 2014 SMRC Knockhill - 14th September 2014 Race 1 Qualified 6th with a 57.86, delighted, new PB. Poor start to the race allowed Andrew M in the Supercopa to get a bit of a lead which I kept constant and couldn't peg it back. Got down to 57.67 in the race and finished 6th. HummuH 10 Posted September 17, 2014 SMRC Knockhill - 14th September 2014 Race 2 With Robert Drummond's Cossie falling to a broken drive shaft I had an open gap in front of me on the grid. Got a good start and got ahead of my nemesis, Andrew M in the Seat Leon Supercopa. Spent the whole race defending my position as you'll see from the lines I was taking. Had an interesting moment with some MX5 back markers (5.45 in video) and then made a stupid mistake and missed 3rd gear coming out of the hairpin when approaching the last lap board (10.45 in video). This allowed Andrew M to draw up beside me and hold the faster outside line into Duffus. Almost lost it at the hairpin on last lap when braking a bit too late.
