G60radoboi 10 Posted February 16, 2013 So I went to get the valver today. The car is in decent condition but nowhere near the discription that was given, so I am peed off about that BUT i was still happy to take her. I don't mind doing work on her so it should be ok, provided there are no major issues....... Off hand these are the problems that will need sorting: A few bulbs - O/S headlight, N/S fog I may have to rip the dash out as the bulbs for the display are useless!!! New wheels Windscreen refit - you will see the pic and understand. Just hoping there is no major rust underneath :unhappy: The headlining is soaked by the windscreen so needs to be replaced The sealer thing around the sunroof is also knackered - see pics. Anyway, here are the pics of her. I am still reasonably happy and hoping it will be aasy fixes and not too dear....... WINDSCREEN SUNROOF
Jim 2 Posted February 16, 2013 Where are you based? KIPVW knows a truly excellent windscreen fitter who's very good with Corrado screens up in the Barnsley area..
G60radoboi 10 Posted February 16, 2013 I am in NW London mate and we have a screen fitter at work so I can get it done FOC :thumbleft:
Jim 2 Posted February 16, 2013 Bonus! Looks fairly clean though to be honest despite a few niggles. Sunroof seal is still available from VW I think :)
robrado974 1 Posted February 16, 2013 Just looked at pics , as Jim says looks like a fairly tidy car apart from the niggles , hey its a rado we all have them !. Good luck with her mate .
GlosterOx 0 Posted February 16, 2013 If you want some OE wheels I know of a set of 15" Ronal Westwoods from a late valver available at a reasonable price? Ian.
Supercharged 2 Posted February 16, 2013 Sunroof seals not too bad comapared to the rood strips - might come up fine with a bit of old toothbrush action but as Jim says they are still available (one of the only parts that are!) Windscreen - if you get it fitted make sure they have the measurements from the Bentley manual - they need spacing correctly so the seal fits just right - should be held by a bit of sealant at the top but not down the sides. Dash lights - you tried adjusting the rheostat on the headlight switch? Looks really tidy otherwise from the pics - best to get some 15" standard speedlines on there first and see how it handles. Yega 10 Posted February 16, 2013 Looking good mate. Bet you're well chuffed!
Yandards 0 Posted February 16, 2013 Windscreen issue, that just looks like the seal that runs around the outside has popped out to me, just poke it back in. As for the slighlty mouldy sunroof seal, a pressure washer will shift that green stuff off..
G60radoboi 10 Posted February 16, 2013 Thanks for the replies guys. The sunroof seal as loose and falls into the ridge so I may replace it if I can. the windscreen has sealer showing down the insides so i am pretty sure it has not been fitted correctly which is why the seal wont just pop back in, I have tried and it just wont go in lol. Ian pm me mate with a price and what are tyres like on it? I had to put a brand new tyre on the car today as te wall had a blister in it. Supercharged I tried the wheel thing on the right and it aint doing much. If you turn on high beam the blue light is very feint too so I defo need to get behind it and see what is happening or pay a specialist (on here) to redo the leds for me ;-)
Portent 0 Posted February 16, 2013 Looks good. They all have a few niggles so really those issues are minor. I bet you're grinning from ear to ear.
G60radoboi 10 Posted February 16, 2013 Very happy Portent. Also need new dash insert complete off a late valver. All my air vents are loose as fek and it is cracked where the radio goes in so if anyone knows of one knocking about. The accellerator is also very stiff, is this normal? I think it may need a new cable.

daves16v 1 Posted February 16, 2013 I've got a good headlining in Light Grey if you need one.
Jamie 1 Posted February 16, 2013 Looks decent from the pics mate. Any car that's 15-20 years old is going to have a few things here and there that need sorting, it's all part of the fun :)
Rustynuts 0 Posted February 18, 2013 Looks clean, but what is going on with the front wheel cambers? They look to be minus by a bit too much to me!
