Forum Group-Buy:VR Stainless tank straps

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Sorry to come to this thread a bit late. Please can you confirm we receive the following:

* three 304 stainless steel tensioning straps for 70 litre tank (un-folded as per posts #143-#147 on page 15)

* 5x stainless bolts and washers (post #130 on page 13)

* can have option of non-polished straps

Many thanks

PS: As I was looking at the parts list, here are the relevant details which may answer a couple of queries buried in the thread:

[COR/1995 (S)/MG 2/SG 01/ILL 65-00]

Pos 27 535 201 653 Tensioning strap (left) 1x

Pos 28 535 201 654 Tensioning strap (right) 2x

Pos 30 111 129 720 Washer (8,4) 5x

Pos 31 N 010 242 22 Hexagonal head bolt M8x25 5x

NB: the part numbers may be superseded.

Yes that correct. Non-polished will take a little longer as a different sheet for cutting is ordered. As an alternative you can always run some emery along the polished ones to achieve a similar (satin) effect.

Hi Fla

Could I be a pain and change my request to a polished set?

I've paid already and had previously requested matt set on PayPal comments.

no worries off its too late to change though.

Cheers

Gus

No problem at all Gus. In fact we're not going to be doing the satin finish ones at all so everyone will get polished straps.

Just had a horrible thought - how do I tell if I have a 55l tank? Even if it's reading totally empty I'm pretty sure it cuts off before I've got more than 50l in. It's a '95 VR6 but auto so not sure if it'd be a different build..?

If you have a 12 gallon maximum fuel gauge it will be a 55 litre tank. The 70 litre have a 15 gallon max gauge.

Got my tank straps through the post this morning, they look great and will hopefully have a crack at fitting this weekend.

Many many thanks again for sorting this out.

I delayed paying for mine because I couldn't decide which finish I wanted so this has helped me out! Now paid for. Thank you so much for organising this.
