dr_mat 0 Posted May 28, 2004 I suspect written off. Creases in the body shell are usually terminal.. :( Bummer!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 28, 2004 Some higher power is determined to rid the UK of Corrados at the moment. Absolutley gutted for you  If it's any consulation, it should be an open and shut case in your favour with regards to the insurance claim. There's no way he can worm out of this one and being in London, there *must* have been witnesses. K
NormanCoal 0 Posted May 28, 2004 Gutted for you - like has been said ^^ I would think the chances of it being repaired are slim if the shell has creases in it

PhatVR6 0 Posted May 28, 2004 I have a genuine VW body repair manual for the corrado if you need any measurements to check if it's still square.

Robch 0 Posted May 28, 2004 Sorry to hear that mate. :( Its a shame when ignorant types take your pride and joy. As said earlier though, glad you're not too badly hurt!
rmn 0 Posted May 28, 2004 really sorry to hear that! Generally creases in the body are bad news!
Henny 0 Posted May 28, 2004 :( not good to hear... Odds are if it's creased the rear quarter panels, the insurance company will just write it off straight away... :( Make sure you get yourself in to a Doctor to get your neck checked out... It's not worth letting it slip for the problems that it could cause you in the future... :| Hope you get it all sorted ASAP and with the minimum of hassles... 8)
Rado16v 0 Posted May 28, 2004 Absolutely gutted for you mate. From the descriotion in your avatar seems you had something special. Definitely get the neck checked out, ideally at a hospital with x-rays etc as it can cause problems in the future.
Scott 0 Posted May 28, 2004 Yup agreed - my old 16V had creases in rear panels and the assesor took one look at it and said write off.
tonytiger 0 Posted May 28, 2004 :( Sorry to hear this but at least your (mostly) okay. From what you've said, I agree with everybody else - it will be written off (unless perhaps you've got a specialist insurance policy). It's sounds very low mileage for it's age, and assuming it's good/top condition I think you'll have to fight the insurance company to get a decent payout. Provide them with evidence from Autotrader, this forum, etc of the price of cars with similar miles and condition. A bit of hassle but will be worth it - they usually agree in the end if you argue long enough. Also, as other people have said, get yourself to your doctor (or even hospital) to get your neck looked at. Then get a good solicitor (not necessarily the one who your insurance company deal with). You should then get sent to a specialist for a neck examination, etc. Your solicitor should then claim substantial damages for personal injury from the other party (plus any incidental costs you've incurred) - should be worth at least a grand, maybe two. Assuming the VR is written-off, will you be looking for the same again or having a complete change?
jamest 0 Posted May 28, 2004 same again!!! only this time maybe with a nice turbocharger bolted on..... cheers for advice boys... :D
Sanj 0 Posted May 28, 2004 Man that is bad news mate! :( I agree with the others it sounds like a write off. The comment about a "higher power determined to rid the uk of Corrado's", we should all start thinking about getting the Corrado's off the road and into storage in a safe place!!! dr_mat 0 Posted May 28, 2004 we should all start thinking about getting the Corrado's off the road and into storage in a safe place!!! Nah, can't do that. They're for driving, not looking at!

seanoVR 0 Posted May 29, 2004 That is very bad news my friend, but i'm sure you will be compensated pretty well. Since it's a black cab they should settle the claim pretty quickly i'd of thought. Hope to see you with another one soon..
