Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 28, 2004 We bought 31 of them direct from Schrick at just over £1000 GBP each, including tax. That's £500 + TAX cheaper than RRP! Are there many VR6 (Golf and Corrado) drivers in Japan that would be interested in a Schrick Group buy? £1000 is still a lot of money but all 31 of us have agreed it's worth money because it makes the car so much better to drive. Only other source is eBay unfortunately. Cheers K
Oichan 0 Posted May 28, 2004 The way that the wheels fill the arches looks great do you know the size and offsets? Or if they are running spacers. I love the five spokes, but havent seen them in the UK. Probably..... first one OZ racing 7.5-17/ET35 next one RAYS VOLK RACING CHALLENGE 8.0-17/ET??? that wheel is for the Japanese car. he modified PCD to 110/14mm and change colors. Scott 0 Posted May 28, 2004 What paint did you use mate for that rocker cover / manifolds? It looks seriously cool in black - I like that alot.
Oichan 0 Posted May 28, 2004 What paint did you use mate for that rocker cover / manifolds? It looks seriously cool in black - I like that alot. I bought paints from the DIY shop. not special paints. It is a regular acrylic paints spray can.
Scott 0 Posted May 29, 2004 But surely the manifold paint would burn off?
Oichan 0 Posted May 29, 2004 But surely the manifold paint would burn off? There is no problem in it at present. It will surely happen if I run the circuit. I recommend using the heat resistant spray paint for muffler. At that time, I was out of stock of the heat resistant spray paints.
Scott 0 Posted May 29, 2004 Interesting ... did you need to 'key' the manifold at all for the paint to stick>?
Jim 2 Posted May 29, 2004 Awesome Corrado is Oichans.. I think at some point or other every Corrado enthusiast ends up finding Oichans gallery and admiring the amount of work thats gone into it. Similar threads to this seem to come up every few months :) And those Oz Superleggra's on that first picture of that Corrado look sweet... just a shame Oz wheels cost too darn much! :(
Oichan 0 Posted May 29, 2004 Scott: what's key? sanding? or ... I don't sanding or something. I wash it only with the detergent. jimsG60: :D Yeah! Actually, first Corrado is beautiful. OZ wheels is very expensive over there? \51,450 in Japan.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 29, 2004 He means 'roughing up' the metal to give the paint a key to bond to. No need on the manifold since it's rough and will absorb paint nicely. Oichan, you need to get a Schrick on that engine  It's all about torque to show those Honda boys a thing or two 8) Have a look at this:- http://www.mmm-five.net/Corrado/corrado.html 244lb/ft of torque!!! vr6storm 0 Posted May 29, 2004 was there no oppotunity to get a Right hand drive Oichan ? chubbzster think someone mentioned on a previous post about how japanese enthusiasts try and get a car to the same spec as the country of manufacture.....so in this case it will be LHD  and of course AFAIK Japan never saw the Corrado officially for sale there

Majik 0 Posted May 29, 2004 Thats a shame vw didnt sell the corrado there or we could've been importing them back to britain and i think they would've been higher spec too :(

Oichan 0 Posted May 30, 2004 kevhaywire: Thanks I understand. yes no need 'roughing up' to the manifold. How much is the total cost which is necessary to get Schrick? shipping to Japan? and How do I pay its cost? Sorry many question  chubbybrown: yeah only left hand drive C in Japan. vr6storm: I think that Corrado which is right hand drive is very rare in the world. jimsG60: Everything is more expensive in Japan.   Majik: what mean? low spec yours? not same J-spec C? ghee60: Thanks! That dials is the DDI reverse indiglo gauges face and LCD with blue LED cluster lights. The DDI has schedule to sell it again next month. I heard it from Anh(aka zarman) last month. ghee60 0 Posted May 30, 2004 thought the dials would be, UK spec cars are generally lower specced than most other countries, and Jap spec is usualy much higher than our cars
chubbybrown 0 Posted May 30, 2004 was it only the VR6 available in Japan or were the milder engine cars available as per model years ? I.E G60 and 16 valvers ? kora doshi 8) chubbz
Oichan 0 Posted May 30, 2004 UK spec cars are generally lower specced than most other countries, and Jap spec is usualy much higher than our cars hummmm why??? but, The dealer of VW in Japan sold it at the very expensive price. I dont need power windows, central locking system and dmun ABS ..etc. I need more power! was it only the VR6 available in Japan or were the milder engine cars available as per model years ? I.E G60 and 16 valvers ? we have 90-92 G60, 92-95VR6 and 94-9516V. http://www.oichan.org/gallery/shigs3.htm His red 16V have Golf3's intake mani and full management computer. Sorry many question  Keep an eye on here or http://www.vr6golf.co.uk as there may be another group buy. Schrick lower the cost to £1074 ( 217,736.35 Y) including tax if 20 are bought. Normal retail price in the UK is £1762 (357,217.36 Y) including tax. You would just add your name to the group buy list and pay by credit card. I don't know how much it will cost to ship to Japan I'm afraid. About £40-£50? It's worth the money  Kev
