Evening all,

Thought I would start a new thread as I have been away for a little while and have come back to Corrado ownership.

When I received it......

This had been off the road for quite a while so I knew it would need a bit of TLC

Started working on a few issues......

IMG_1576_zps0632309a.jpg

A nice B&Q shelf bracket as an exhaust hanger.

New discs & pads all round (no pics)

LED's missing from inside the clocks (?)

Cleaning all the brake pipes etc.

Then I started doing some bits I was looking forward to :)

Wiring the heated seats in...

Nov2013075_zps281a2e40.jpg

Momo 280mm wheel...

Nov2013072_zps134e4bb1.jpg

Then I decided I wanted to replace the stalks with the later versions...

Nov2013104_zps71ce6f89.jpg

Lupo wipers....

IMG_1603_zps27e94198.jpg

Replaced the sunroof mech for a Mk3 Golf estate item, now it tilts & slides :)

Removed the rear wiper...

Sold the Borbets, replaced them and then it was MOT time.....

Fortunately it passed with only a couple of advisories. one being the front top mounts which I have replaced................along with the original coilovers as they were pooped.

Got some all red rears from here and popped them on...

IMG_1909_zps8417ec4f.jpg

Put some lamin-x on the front to give it a moody look...

The Brock B1's are 9j all round

Then I decided the front bumper would look better without the numberplate in it so off it went to the body shop...

Love the B&Q shelf bracket for the exhaust hanger, jesus what people will do to avoid spending a few quid.

Like what you have done, really looks aggressive from the front especially in the black. I would move out the way it saw that coming up behind me.

Then things started going wrong with the engine....

1st, the starter motor went

2nd, bad earths left me stranded whilst coming home from work. Had to be recovered.

3rd, the oil cooler failed, filling the water system with oil.

4th, the hoses were rotten, when you squeezed one, it split

5th, the clutch slave cylinder failed on me just as I got back from a day out

6th, the HT leads were perished and were arcing

7th, dizzy had to be replaced.

This made me decide to clean all the engine bay up.

How it was when I got the car...

IMG_1379_zpsaa144db1.png

I moved the washer bottle into the boot...

Then bought a battery tray, secured a false floor and enclosed the battery into the boot (no pics yet)

This is how the engine is now currently...

Missed out loads so I'll add those on when I get round to sorting the pics :)

There is a Cupra splitter fitted on at the Mo. Samthegram gave me the tip as I destroyed mine at all-types show. Now have a standard one again

Hats off to you that engine bay looks superb, I do like the polished look and the blue hoses really sets it off. sorry to hear of the troubles you had but glad the car is obviously in the hands of someone who clearly wants to look after it. Great stuff.

Thanks again :)

Always regretted selling my last one so this one will be a keeper. Hoping to get a few bodywork mods done and maybe get the surrounding bay smoothed.

Doesn't help having to run it as a daily :(

Thanks Chris. Yeah, these pics were taken off FB as my camera skills are slim to none . Think the wheels will be for sale soon as I want to give it a change for next year but not sure what I want to put on it

It was a bit of a faff but it did look OK, still got it in the shed if I ever feel like I want a change again :)

Some more bits I didn't mention first time.

Blacked the roof lining.

Nov2013030_zpsaf55a6c9.jpg

The parcel shelf had the 6x9's cut into it. So I ripped those out, made a blanking panel for the rear of it and re-covered it.

September2013310_zps0f04fefc.jpg

I also replaced the 6x4's in the rear as they were past their best...

Another thing I forgot to mention was the exchange of the power steering reservoir.

The original does stick out quite a bit and it just so happened I had a spare one from a Mk4 golf (?)

image_zps0c6a8c7c.jpg

I made a mounting bracket out of some 3mm 304 stainless

IMG_3272_zps07822e61.jpg

And then fitted the new reservoir :)

IMG_3291_zps18eec215.jpg

Just tidied the bay up a bit more
