Car looks great, some real nice touches. well done!

I'm in the process of gathering the parts for a brake refurb myself. Did you source new front & rear brake shields & if you did can I ask where you got them from please?

Fronts are not easy to find and I found a set in Poland that had been refurbed but didn't find them til after the brakes had been done.

The rears are more common and I got them through eBay but I think you can get them from VW heritage and other places.

Thanks for the comment.

Cheers Kenny and it might suit a nice leather interior too ;-)

Cleaned the new spare rubber mats and they came up like new and touch up paint and new blank for where the old immobiliser switch was.

Front all painted up and drying just now, just going to put the standard Speedlines on just now until I get the spacers.

Normal wheels on with 10mm spacers from my GTD, with front brakes finished and now going to order just black spacers for the front.

The spacers make a worthwhile difference :)

They make it look a bit better but I bought 12mm spacers rather than the 10mm's.

Looking forward to them coming and then putting the new wheels on

Very nice indeed, great attention to detail. I can only dream about getting to do these kind of finishing touches 8)

We all get there in the end

I just wish I had the skills and tools to be able to do more as I would have loved to remove the rear beam and do it properly but it's too daunting and I'm genuinely not capable

So I do the best I can and things like the beam and wishbones will remain in " used " condition

My 12mm black spacers for the front arrived today ready for putting on along with the newly diamond cut Speedlines on Saturday.

Also my new blue wing mirror glasses have arrived for fitting sometime.

ahh they look really nice. I was pondering changing my mirror glass but on my old shed I'm not sure it's worth it

You pay fir one and get the other half price, I think it was £25 for the pair with the plastic holders.

Popped the refurbed wheels on with the 12mm black spacers and they look decent enough, once the suspension has settled back down after being jacked it will look better again.

The wheels suit it really well, and the diamond cutting on the speed lines. Just adds that something more special to them.

Thanks they do suit the car and are different but still original wheels.

My actual choice would be Porsche d90's with diamond cut rim but I wanted to use the original wheels to go along with my original ish look.

Finally got all the wee original fixings for the rear brake bias valve for replacing at next years service as well as the thermostat kit that I bought.

Also bought brushed stainless sill trims.

Ooh, where did you get the spring from? I got my bias valve last week in preparation for the underside refurb, but I thought the springs were unavailable anywhere!

Spring was around £12 and came with the rollers and spacers but I bought the separate ones in error.
