dinkus 10 Posted June 30, 2004 2x Lupo GTI wipers: VW: £68.93 Shocked Shocked Shocked GPC: £35.25 Bugger, and I just ordered them from VAG, cos I thought that was the only place you could get em  Ho hum. At least I got a big discount.
Supercharged 2 Posted June 30, 2004 The aero blades just slide straight off the arm making them much easier to change (and steal) than the old style ones...
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted June 30, 2004 The aero blades just slide straight off the arm making them much easier to change (and steal) than the old style ones... Yeah I noticed that too... I can get the whole aero blade off the arm, no problem, but does that mean I have to replace the whole blade each time? I thought i could use refils for just the rubber part of the blade (the bit which actually touches the screen) or am I wrong? That is the bit that I reckon is tricky to remove and replace :? Supercharged 2 Posted June 30, 2004 They look like they do but i don't think its easily posible, the blades arn't expensive anyways and seem to last a fair while altho some have reported them wearing quickly, that could be down to brand of screenwash / alcohol content etc... joebloggsVR69 0 Posted June 30, 2004 I just realised, the VW price for the Lupo GTI Wipers is £68.93 EACH! Daylight robbery! GPC charge £17.62! That is an appaling £51 markup!

joebloggsVR69 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Yes, it's very odd! Bloomin stealership  *EDIT* I've just noticed the part numbers on the invoice for the Lupo wipers isnt the same as the one I bought from GPC, perhaps it's the older style Lupo wiper?
dinkus 10 Posted July 1, 2004 Yeah those Lupo wipers aren't the ones I bought. I'm sure mine were more like £40ish the pair from VW which includes the arm and blade as a kit. Part no. V6X2 998 406 http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... &start=140 I'm picking them up today tho, so I'll let you know when I get them. Supercharged 2 Posted July 1, 2004 Yeah, they'd priced up the arms and blades seperatly - the ones from gpc are V6X2 998 406, I got a pair of these from the dealer for £33.
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted July 1, 2004 Yeah, the ones GPC sold me were V6X2 998 406 and not the ones with the part number on the VW invoice :?

dinkus 10 Posted July 1, 2004 I used Sheppards in Bishops Stortoford, never called them before in my life, mentioned I had a CCGB membership and gave me parts club prices on applicable items and 10% on everything else. They're really really really nice guys and extremely helpful :)
Scruffythefirst 0 Posted July 1, 2004 how did you manage to get a discount my local stealers see me quite a bit, and they give me nowt They give him a discount cos they like me for the VX I drive (they feel sorry for me) and I have to go pick up his parts while he earns the money to pay for them
dinkus 10 Posted July 1, 2004 They give him a discount cos they like me for the VX I drive (they feel sorry for me) I'd like to point out this isn't a VX220, more a 1.8 L Reg Cav with an interesting rear wing mod :D
Jim 2 Posted July 1, 2004 You mind sharing the part number for the rear VW badge? Mine has come loose and needs replacing, so will pop up the Stealers on Saturday!
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted July 1, 2004 You mind sharing the part number for the rear VW badge? It's on the pink receipt, previous page  Mine's chrome, I dunno if yours is too, but it's probably the same :D Part no: 357 853 601 Mine is 357 853 601 WM7, that's what the '95 'chrome special' is listed as in ETKA You might also need 2 badge gromets, unless you can re-use your existing ones. Part number: 191 853 615A
Jim 2 Posted July 1, 2004 I think its my grommets that are probably borked, and the badge is just really faded now anyway.. so i'll just get the whole lot. Forgot about you putting up a copy of the reciept.. I should have just looked back. Sorry ;)
