Just saw this " The paintwork is the only thing that lets this car down from being a real show-stopper,"

Tbh, bit of T-cut i recon it could go in a VW museum?

That repair to the sunroof looks like a factory option.

Looks like? i thought it was? I was going to go to VW later and ask if they still do the panel and pop rivet kit?

I wonder how the 'delete' looks from the inside, can imagine there's just a massive hole in the roof lining.

has to be fine right, after all, its only the paintwork which lets the car down

DUDE!

The paints the only thing holding it back from being a real show stopper. He said that himself. Not to mention to EXTENSIVE engine work.

Its piratically had a full restoration. I thought VW had done a reproduction when i first saw it

To be fair thats a lot more than a service. Would make a perfect base for a track car with all that done. Sunroofs are rubbish anyway. They weigh a lot, leak and break. A moonroof is only acceptable option I think other than not having one IMO.

I agree on the good basis for a track car - to rip out the running gear and drop into a Mk2 Golf ;)
