Poly carbonate foglight lenses

Anyone bought any of the Karmann ski replacement foglight lenses and got any feedback?

I wondered if they would discolour the plastic or melt the plastic with the heat of the foglight bulbs?

They look good (although may well make the indicators then look very tired!) and seem easy to fit rather than grinding glass on the BMW fogglight option but was just wondering if they would allow the foglights to be used rather than cracking the glass or melting?

I've replaced fog light glass before,a company in America used to sell replacements,the actual "swapping" the glass is easy,

But what the polycarbonate replacements are like,I'm sorry,I don't know

I may go down this route. I paid daft money for a replacement 2nd hand fog light and it has cracked when switched on. Sodding Thing.

Would it feasible to replace the foglight bulbs with leds to reduce the risk of heat damage?

The chap who recently sold the blue tdi conversion had leds fitted to the fogs iirc

I'd be inclined to try them out but with LED bulbs to bring the heat down
