Radiator support / Crossmember

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Ive been in contact with a chap that has re made a G60 Crossmember, the part that supports the radiator.

Before i go too much further with it as they are not the cheapest part i am just looking to gauge interest on them.

Here is a link to the actual part

535-199-171/G – G60, E2, ADY engines from chassis number 50-N-002 101>>

535-199-171/G – KR and 9A engines

Hiya

Is this the part that basically disintigrates as soon as you look at it? - mine has been completely reclaimed by mother earth and all that is left is the bolts in the front valance! - I would be interested... as long as I dont have to re-mortgage the house expensive?

Hi Anna,

Mine is also beginning to rust into oblivion and would be very interested.

All second hand versions seem to be in a similar condition.

Stainless or aluminium?

There is an option of both

What would people be willing to pay for one brand new?

Would a steel one be cheaper and easier to manufacture? With the limited use, our cars receive and provided it was properly treated at the factory it would last for years.

£350 for the stainless steel one sounds reasonable considering OEM was £300.

I have no idea for aluminium, say £400 - £450?

Cheaper the better, but Quality is most important (would pay for quality)

This would be for a VR6

I'd be interested in the G60 variant but really need to take a look at mine first as last time i looked there was only a bit of surface rust.

Yes all G60 are PG code in Corrado but is an early/late type according to ETKA

In the thread he says the aluminum is the same price as the steel? But prices may have changed I guess

Thanks for the confirmation. I which case i'd be interested in the later x-member subject to a proper review of my own next time the bumper is off.

Any updates ?

He is just starting to put the VR6 sample together to test, then we will look to go into production. They will now be made from alloy to try and keep costs down for all

Sorry if treading on Anna's toes but did people know that the 2.0l litre is the same as the vr6 but with an extra lug/bracket welded on. So if you have a rusted vr6 one remove the lug from it measuring centres before of course and weld it on to the another one. It's easier to find a 1800 or 2000 one in good nick than a vr6 one, that's what I found anyway. Hope this helps someone who is stuck now and can't wait.
