Hi

Car was painted yesterday, and looks amazing just a matter of piecing it back together now so on the home stretch, a special thanks to diarmaid16 .

For the oz rims as I was thinking I'd never source them , here some pics but they don't do it justice ATM ee2025548d63e8f0bb2ab98e2b7eaf73.jpg10c19031a9aba868e7446eb73b391dca.jpgd595a08384644c9342ad5f75f33c2c89.jpgdec9d93ac5d5f815e9ba207c73036ad5.jpg76f7f8de74072f5c21cfc768f49d1c23.jpg21115a1bc243fe4f9f10c5f774458382.jpg

Car looks really nice.

The grill strikes me as a bit marmite, you either love it or hate it. Not digging it myself to be honest, looks a bit Seat Ibiza.

It's a car of its time, a piece of history not modernised which makes it special.

I think you bought that knob and gaiter off me?

I've had Sloans plate surrounds for over 20 years303fbb2801aec5d2edf92dccf75f583c.jpg

Thanks everyone

Over the years some of the original parts went missing,

One owner bent the front wheel and cud'nt get a replacement.

The car started off with black leather and was ditched for the cream leather re trim , gauges were fitted at Scotts

I bought the car from a guy in the west mids who owned it for 10 years but was stuck in a garage totally neglected.

Was auto from factory but now it's manual changed by the last owner which I think improves it , as for those Scotts plate surrounds there ultra rare now and desirable

Finally took the old girl out today after insuring the car, I was quite apprehensive as I brimmed the tank with high octane fuel .

Drove a couple of miles before taking the m1 north , looking in the mirror and watching that lovely sight as the spoiler pops up . And already a thumbs up from a passing van just makes you realise it's all worth it

The brakes felt quite good considering she's sat around, however the abs light kept coming on then going off, also first gear was a tad hard to find other than that no dramas and felt very responsive through the gears
