Headlight bulbs

Recommended Posts

I just want to check with you chaps that H4 472’s are the correct bulbs to fit . A mate put these in for me last week as I damaged my thumb badly with a Stanley knife. I went karting yesterday and drove back in the dark , I put the full beam on and found out I don’t have it . It wasn’t a pleasant drive home .

Yep, the main bulbs are H4s, the spots are H3. Something like the Philips Xtreme Vision +whatever% work well for me. If the wiring loom's stock I'd start with the fuses. If you're running an uprated loom then check the fuses in the loom as well and the relays, quite often they're not very well weather proofed and fail after getting wet.

Swap them over, if you get main and no dip you have a relay problem.

Fuse for NSF main beam in the fusebox OK

Pull all the knackered relay out and see if the fuse stays in. Then take the defective relay to any automotive supplier as the picture on the side will be the type of relay. Nothing fancy about them, just check the pin layout is the same

Yes . It’s basically what Rog told me to do . I think it’s water ingress . I’ve sprayed it with contact cleaner and left it for now as it’s dark . I may as well replace the other two relays as well .

Thanks Cressa .
