carrots 1 Posted May 5, 2018 Hi i am going to buy some poly bush rear axle bushes are they hard to fit.cheers
fendervg 33 Posted May 5, 2018 Poly will be easy to fit, the OE ones need a press or special tool. However, most would not recommend poly bushes on the back as they make it too stiff and allow for too little movement. The rear axle was designed to flex a bit. I've fitted OE rubber on mine again at 90k and expect they will last at least that again.
Simeon 0 Posted May 5, 2018 I'd recommend them, easy to fit and do the job perfectly
carrots 1 Posted May 5, 2018 Great are they the one piece ones you fitted
Brian1975 14 Posted May 5, 2018 I had powerflex one piece bushings in my mk2 golf a few years back, yeah they are much easier to fit than oe but I didn't like the way it drove afterwards, car felt twichy and oversteery. I,'ll be fitting the original type bushings in my corrado soon.
carrots 1 Posted May 5, 2018 Ive got standard bushes ready to fit.i had drivers side fitted years ago but left other due to brake valve thing in the way .lad in garage fitted poly bushes to his mk4 golf and said they are much easyer to fit.dont no what to do now
Brian1975 14 Posted May 5, 2018 Are you going them yourself? The hardest part is getting the old bushes out which you have to do anyway, Found a useful diy guide in the link below.. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?9048-Poly-Bushes
Tjninny 10 Posted May 6, 2018 I’d say go with standard - yes the poly bushes are easier to fit but then you’ve got to drive it. As people have already said (there’s no substitute for experience)the rear axle is designed to have some flex, almost like rear steering. MK4 is a different design.
