Ray1965 10 Posted January 24, 2020 (edited) Acquired a set of very nice BBS RS771's tyres fitted are 205x40x16. (Not fitted to my car yet) I have been doing some digging of past posts on these wheels fitted to a VR6 Corrado. Question is, would it be better or not to run with hub centric spacers? or will the wheels look ok without as a lot of posts have suggested (but getting conflicting opinions). Keyo 47 Posted January 24, 2020 (edited) Tyres should be 205x45x16 . 40 especially if lowered will-be a well harsh ride . No need for spacers they fit perfectly, they are 6.5 J wide same as stock speed lines . RS771 are size 16 not 17 hence trye size 16. If you have aftermarket callipers that are wider than the stock callipers then you will need spacers as the stock callipers only have a couple mm spare. fla 9 Posted January 25, 2020 16s will certainly be smoother than 17s though...
Keyo 47 Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) 16s will certainly be smoother than 17s though... I'm on eibach springs (25mm to 30mm) eibach b4 shocks with 16s and 45 tryes, more harsh then I would like to be honest, is this why folks say speedlines are the best choice, is the ride a lot softer on 15s ? In my opinion you have absolute no choice with a late VR6 then to lower, looks far to high from factory and wrecks the whole look of the car. Update...Been out in the garage today just to put my mind at rest regarding the profile of the wheels i bought back in November. The original advert said 205x40x16 bear in mind i didn't know that the profile should be 45 for best performance when i was buying them. Just looked at the tyres and woa and behold 205x45x16....winner! Looking forward to fitting them in the spring.
