16v 2.0 in tank fuel sender / pump unit

hi all, got a bit of a problem with my in tank sender / pump unit , basically i think its shot!!  , question is can i get a replacement or parts to fix it , i cant find a part number anywhere on it and have searched the web but not getting much joy, any info would be great or if someone has one for sale. my car is a 94 16v 2.0

Did you test the wiring? You should get a variable resistance across the two wires as you move the float.

no, thought it mite have been an easy fix as the car has been stood for 6 years with the back end up on stands , was hoping it was just stuck,

Ah ok - I think it might be the same part as 16v Golf Mk3, so should be easy enough to find, but someone else on here with the same setup should be able to confirm.

Usually with the sender it's either the wiring back to the dash has become damaged or the tracks on resistor have become damaged. I think you should get 12v or 5v down one of the wires with the ignition on, and then that passes through the track for the float and back to the gauge.

(2) rubber seal ring
Part number 321 919 133
I think I paid close to £20 for this in 2018

(7) small adapter
Part number 357 919 133
£30.84 before VAT (2018 price)

(8) fuel lift pump
Part number 191 906 092AD
£51.06 before VAT (2018 price)

(9) fuel pump strainer
Part number 191 906 098H
£9.90 before VAT (2018 price)

 

Item's 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9,
 I purchased back in 2018 from VW Heritage.

Item (0) I purchased new off Ebay.

Nice one chap with some of them numbers starting with 191 I imagine its the same pump for a Mk2 golf 16V 1990 late big bumper ? Thanks

Yeah I believe so just the lift pump and the strainer, plus the small adapter, are used on the MK2 16v golf also from roughly 1990 to 1992 

VW Heritage had those 3 items on the shelf when I ordered them, but the rest is special order from Classic Parts.
