I just remember the stats on the Lotus Carlton with it's 3.8 seconds 30-70 time, which kinda ruined my appreciation of 5.7s! Methinks our optimistic speedos are giving us the wrong idea, OR they changed the gear ratios... And Jedi I can well believe the Schrick takes a second off it - cos you'd have to be in 2nd from the rolling start and the standard engine doesn't start to pull hard till 36/37mph in 2nd ... :) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Autocar said at the time of writing that they felt the car they had wasn't delivering it's best and couldn't get the time under 7 seconds. It obliterated the opposition in the handling stakes though :lol: The factory handbook quotes 6.9 and that's usually conservative, so 7 seconds + would indicate an under-performing example. To get 115 mph from 3rd, you'd need 17.3 mph per 1000 rpm running at 6600rpm on 15" wheels. I keep seeing different ratios depending where you look.
