G60CS 0 Posted September 2, 2004 I've a 92 G60,When I use the one touch and release of the window switch for fully down, this works fine on both windows, but for fully up-I can do one touch for drivers window, but for the passenger side I need to keep switch pressed to fully close. Is this normal? thanx :)

Phil K 0 Posted September 2, 2004 safety reasons I think.. bit annoying though
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 2, 2004 Indeed....if in doubt, consult the manual! It's so that little kids don't play with the switch and accidentally "One touch" their neck in the window frame.
G60Jet 1 Posted September 2, 2004 i think its so the driver cant close the window and trap a passengers arm i nthe window or something, cos if you operate the drivers one you can have your arm out of the window at the same time.

Yup, I have a little addenum leaflet on mine that says about the windows doing that. It's highly annoying as I don't really want to drive along holding my finger on the button.... dr_mat 0 Posted September 2, 2004 My '95 VR doesn't do 1-touch up on EITHER side, so ... Whether that's due to a fault or due to a design decision I don't know.
pablo_vr6 0 Posted September 2, 2004 mine go one touch down but neither goes one touch up.

Yup, neither of mine go up with one-touch, that's what it says in the manual addenum :)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 2, 2004 The official line on these windows is:- 1 touch up and down on the driver's side 1 touch down only on the passenger side Mine work perfectly  If the driver's doesn't go up again with 1 press, there are a number of causes:- Tired motor Stiff runners Timer circuit inteference from an aftermarket alarm The timer relay in the control box behind the rear door card is dead. K I forgot to add, the Clifford alarms do have excellent full closure control. I walk away from the car and plip the alarm and the roof and both windows all close fine. The Clifford will keep closing until they're shut basically. Some alarms only have a preset timer which is sometimes too short and non adjustable. G60CS 0 Posted September 4, 2004 I seemed to of opened a can of worms here  it's just funny after all that mines ok but other people are having problems with their windows
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 4, 2004 Nah not at all. We like worms  Some people fear the worst when the passenger window won't go up with one press, but that's how it is supposed to be. It explains that in the manual. I know reading the manual is boring, but always consult it when in doubt.
