OK Am I right in thinking that this isn't right. Should my fans run on after ignition is turned off for 10 mins, regardless of how hot the engine gets. I can drive the car 10 yards from cold turn it off and the fans turn on, on the after run. I've recently changed the rad temp sensor, Also the temp gauge on the dash only goes up to about 70-75 degrees even though I've changed the yellow sensor do you think I've got an earthing issue somewhere, or a duff sensor from new. Cheers Jon

Ok, so I was having issues with temp gauge not working in the car so changed the sensor, still didn't work, Using the cooling guide I decided to test the fans, Only stage 1 works, not 2 or 3. I removed the fan control module and when its off it rattles like something is loose inn there, I take it this is not normal? !, Mine is part number 1HO 919 506 and has the 2 plugs on the bottom, after phoning TPS and VW heritage i found out the part is obsolete, 2, Does anyone have one I could buy from them 3 Anyone local have one I could borrow to test my fans 4 Has it been superseded by a newer part. 5 Does this bit by not working affect the dash temp gauge. Cheers JOn

OK, managed to get hold of the connectors from these people: http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/section.php/206/1/terminals-to-fit-mouldings

Came across these guys today while trying to find individual connectors, two very helpful guys, Neil and Dan who helped me enormously sorting out the earth wire for my headlight switch. Someone had completely removed it. http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/section.php/206/1/terminals-to-fit-mouldings

Was all ready to do this mod today as most of the dash is out, was initially a little confused when the brown wire was mentioned. Had a good look and it seems a previous owner has removed it, so first thing id to earth the switch then fuse it, so does anyone know where to get the loom connectors from??

OK, The actual heater control panel is working fine, no broken bits, except I'm missing one of the metal securing clips that hold the cable to the panel, does anyone have one I could buy, or know where I can get hold of one. Many thanks Jon

Got the problem sorted, it seems i removed one of the ignition wires by mistake!! Soldered in a new one and she runs. :smug: Now just have to sort the central locking not working. Any suggestions??

I think I did take the immobiliser out, 3 control boxes came out, I've repaired the wiring i can see, and am going to try to locate the live feed for the fuel pump on saturday, to try to get the car to run. i take it the 'factory' alarm looks nothing like an aftermarket jobbie?
-
I'm in the process of removing the aftermarket alarm from my VR6, I have most of the wiring out and the control boxes and have repaired the wiring, the bits i can access and see. I reconnected the battery but the car wont start, it seems I have no live feed to my fuel pump, no voltage showing. Am I right in undertsanding that to be thatcham certified the fuel pump has to be spliced into, and if so where??. And how do i test it. It seems the fuel pump has several live feeds!! The back of the fuse box looks like a bowl of spagetti so was going to unplug all the plugs from the back, untangle them and then plug them back in, hopefully sorting the mess out. Thanks Jon

Ive got some on my phone so will try to put them up tomorrow, and I'm near Canterbury in Kent.

Hi, Anybody near Canterbury that could scan my VR6, my ABS light is on and i want to see if its a sensor or pump issue. Thanks Jon

Hi, I've just bitten the bullet and bought my first Corrado, a VR6 too. I've been wanting one since i owned a MK2 Golf back from 1994, now a lot older and not a lot wiser. I've serviced all my own cars as I don't like paying garages for something I can do myself, I feel I may need bodywork stuff dome, but the aim is to restore it to its former glory. No doubt you will be hearing from me asking for advice!! Jon
