Good point Gazza! Just had the front mount replaced not long ago,cos it was-in the words of the mechanic who spotted it-as if someone had cut it in two. :shock: Roddy,s right.Mine doesn't have ABS.

Thanks for the replies. Oil level was the first thing I checked. :lol: I think it could be the manifold thing as the oil level is ok and the oil pressure light has never come on. It feels fine powerwise and the noise really only appears when the engine is hot. I'll check out the manifold just in case,but it has never been touched since I bought the car five years ago.

Can u elaborate? I dont think it's pinking.Could be the tappets.Are they adjustable?

Yeah,tried my local factors,but when it comes to anything other than your run-of-the-mill standard road box,they're pretty much useless.All they had were T-pieces, and I don't have a Halfords near here.Really just wanted to know if this was a part that was peculiar to VW or if it was available from anywhere else.Thanks anyway.

Help! Driving home the other night,I noticed a strange ticking sound coming from the engine.As I applied power It got louder/faster and when I came off the throttle,it went away. I've been told it could be the injection system(butterflies or something :?: )or is it that not enough oil is getting to the top end? Please help cos it's driving me nuts!!!

Does anybody know if the door handles from a mk5 polo would fit on a corrado? Would it be a strsight swap or would cutting be involved?

Can anyone help please? I,ve had a problem with the rear wash/wipe on my Corrado. It started off as poor pressure on the spray,but on further investigation it turned out that the small pipe that went into the sprayer itself was being pushed back by the water pressure and when I went to push it in the damn thing snapped in two! My local VW dealer couldn't find the part and reckoned it would cost about 5-7quid for a new one.For a small peice of 90deg plastic pipe! Anybody got any ideas what I could replace this with? Also get a strange rumbly knocking sound every now and then from the front somewhere,as if theres a driveshaft working loose but everything seems tight.Any ideas as to what this could be would be appreciated cos its got me stumped :crazyeyes:

Mine work Both up and down,and as ana added extra,sometimes when I turn off the ignition either the drivers side or passenger side will take on a a mind of its own and go down by itself.This happened one day to the drivers side and I had to disconnected the battery to get the fuggin thing back up! :?

O.k-30yrs old now. Had a MK2 1600 cavalier saloon at 21,modded of course,with a fast road cam and race head,weber carb,K+N filter,lowered,big brakes,stainless steel exhaust,15"alloys with red centre caps(red car-looked bl**dy good)and standard body apart from a boot spoiler.It would pull 60 in 2nd gear and surprised a hell of a lot of ppl.I was gutted when I sold it :cry: But I bought a Corrado G60 and everythings fine now!! :lol:

I saw a pic of that thing a couple of months ago in PVW among a montage of cars at a french or german show and couldn't believe someone had the gall to build it, let alone show it.I'm not a purist or anything but JEEZ............that's just silly :?

Strange thing.I've had mine for about 2 months now and i thought that they looked better on a lighter coloured car.(mines maroon,or bordeux pearl mettalic if you want to be posh!)No theres no sign of the chrome work coming apart yet and I'd swear that they are brighter than OEM taillights as well. :?

O.K lets put it this way.My G60 has had some work which see it dyno'd at 183bhp. Thats 23bhp over standard.With a few more mods it probably could push 200. A VR6 pushes 190bhp as standard,add a supercharger and chip upgrade, induction kit and performance exhaust and you wouldn't be far off 220bhp. Don,t get me wrong,the Octavia RS is a nice car and great VFM but it is STILL a Skoda and theres no getting away from that badge.(badge snobbery rules!!!!!) :oops: :shock: :lol:

The Octavia RS was sold as having the same 1.8t engine from VW,and as such should produce around 180bhp,which isn't bad but it is a big heavy car.A mildly tuned G60 should be slightly quicker off the line but at top end the RS should beat it.A more heavily tuned(i.e cams,headwork etc) G60 wouldn't have too much of a problem.(I hope!!) 8) :lol: And as for a tuned VR6.................BYE BYE RS :twisted:

Had to laugh.The local plod have just taken delivery of a spanking new Skoda estate to add to thier fleet(a mundano,2 focuses and a paddy wagon transit for saturday nights!)Should be able to outrun it......but being only one of two C's here,then they might just find me easily enough

Not seen an R32 yet but theres GTi anniversary up here(in silver or more possibly dirt)which is owned and driven by an elderly grey haired wombat and a strong rumour that someones bought an RS6 onto the Island.Christ knows where they going to be able to open that up! :shock: :lol:

I,ve had my stage 4 for about six months now and I'm well happy with it.Got the chip and pulley at the same time and,with a Jetex induction kit and exhaust,it dyno'd at 183bhp,and so much torque,I've just had to replace the front engine mount cos it was ripped cleanly away from its base! :shock: Is it true that pre 91 cars dont have to have a cat to pass the mot?Been thinking about replacing it with a cat bypass or would TSR's 8v Golf manifold fit? :evil:

Won't be able to make the rolling road day as I could be in Amsterdam(don't ask!) As for Inters,I'll hopefully be driving to Aberdeen on the 8th and then going onwards the following day,so we could meet up somewhere.but 5am?jeez you must be keen! :shock:
