So i have just picked up my vr6 11 years since getting rid of my last one it was on autotrader n plate aqua on bbs rx alloy wheels, bodywork is ok just a bit of rust on the rear arch and laquer peel on the drivers door down the bottom but this will be sorted in time.....the 1.5hr drive back! Amazing! Smiled all the way...pics to follow

Yeah the seller was a nice chap didnt know much about corrados and apparently it was sat in the garage awaiting payment for the mot eventually the owner offered it to the garage im not sure for how much...its always disappointing to see a car with 1 owner from 2000 have no receipts!

So as promised I saw it today, initially I thought it looked really good! It was raining so potentially hid a lot of small scratches. Anyway looked closer and noticed the following: both front arches were starting to rust on the inner lip seperating the paint, passenger side was a bit hazy but would polish up well, both fogs were cracked and one was lose however indicators were fine. Bumper had a few scratches but nothing bad, bonnet was good but had a touch up at the top which was fairly obvious. It had a new windscreen but as such the rubber trim was loose. Rest of the outside looked very good bar a small dent on the rear arch. Passenger side front and rear side mouldings were missing. Interior was very good tiny bit of scuffing on drivers bolster. Engine sounded a bit tappy on start but chains sounded ok. Drove really well everything works inc heater, spoiler, sunroof except drivers mirror mech was slipping. But when I got back the radiator was steaming! The seller is fixing it. Very little history service book is stamped till 111000 but no docs for any other work. Looks like it had very little use for 7 years seeing the mot print out. The wheels are 17in and are in good condition so woud sell for the cost of speedlines

I was thinking along the same lines tony i find it a strange mod to have an immobilizer key, put the keys in ignition turn it on then push a button! May as well turn the key

Yes its relatively local to me, it is a really honest car other than the wheels which were fitted when he bought it. It also has a start button which i wasnt a fan of so would intend on getting a new gear stick surround. The interior other than the button is very good condition. Heater direction doesnt work and spins freely. Exterior has many car park dints on the angles but only a little rust. Bonnet is stone chipped so im fairly convinced it is original paint...but it drove fantastically really smooth no fresh oil leaks just a bit of old residue. I would budget front and side respray.

I think it has previously had the aux water pump done, do most people do the chains themselves? Are the parts still available ie gaskets and seals?

I have just viewed a corrado vr6 the cosmetics were not great but the engine seemed very good and well looked after. However should i be concerned that a 99k engine hasnt had chains/tensioners/clutch or head gasket done? How fragile is the vr6 engine? I know there is know schedule for the chains to be changed but a lot of people do so there must be an issue somewhere. Thanks for all input
