BURRUPPPPPPP

  5. thank u sir. I think we have floged this question to death. Seems silly now to have asked the question in the first place. but now I know. Thank you all at CF. Another Storm comming your way :D !!!! If we could now close this subject please. OAO
  6. Nop. Jealous? I am as I would'nt know where to start and applaud that man for considering the project. Whish him the best o Luck.
  7. I Concur with Henny. I think what we were both getting at ( in a round- a-bout way) is "its not what ya got but the way you use it". For those of you who have had the pleasure of advanced driving or professional racing instruction will know what we are talking about! BHP/Tonne - and use of the brain (HAND EYE Coordination) will prevail. If all else fails, Physc your challanger out. i.e Pull over and say in the pub later that you were not realy trying
  8. Thanks for that Chris, I was certainly trail blazing down the stairs that day. Early bird and all that. Look forward to meeting you all at a meet some time. Kieran. PS. Forgot to check for the warning triangle. IT's missing  But a minter :D all the same. Anybody got a spare lurking about?
  9. Think you have to consider the weight deferential factor. 4x4 drive trains are heavey mothers and not to mention the stress your motor/clutch will have to endure on the 90% time your 4x4 is not been used. They tried the 4x4 thing in F1 many years ago with no success. Rally X cars eg Quattro (hail the great) and the Scooby swears by the 4x4. think on a normal championship course and variable track day conditions, I would stick with the less complex/economical option of 2 wheel drive. K
  10. Sorry for my crude 2 and 6, (not overly teci minded) but I remember reading a full artical in a mag many years ago. (circa 7) about this chap in Germany who was running 2 VR6 engines (1 front/1 Back seats) in his C. The artical cought my eye at the time becacse his VR was Black (as was mine) and had huge Crome Alloys that looked like submerine propellers. It all worked of a Golf rally drive train but he said he would never take her out in the wet. (No wipers you see). Think he was afraid if the SKIDS on the Leather seats. K
  11. VerrrrrrrRRRRy Nice :D , You must be realy proud. How do you think thoese wheels would sit on my C Storm?
  12. Is the 1.6 that bad on fuel then? no worries on the polo. 1.6 a bit long in the tooth and not very friendly on the old pocket. Have another polo as a runabout tomorrow (or maybe the next day) or at least when i get rid of my E240evo. Top all rounder! :D
  13. Suicide Jockey if ever I heard of 1. Must have been like driving a skip lorry at a tonne. Frightening to think what the anchors were like. No doubt some poor unsuspecting C Owner was “Blown” off the road in the process and lost their no claims and excess
  14. Cheers Blue, when I was a little younger and had my VR6C, It was the Dogs Danglers. Went a little mad in later years and bought myself one of the Last dealer Golfs VR6 from the dealers. What a letdown, Fule was poor, performanance was poor and looks were nothing more than 1.4e on steroids. not sorry to see her go. Fav past time now is C spotting. Not many left. Get'm while they 'R' HOT
  15. Best stear clear of the 1.6GL, I had a new one after my VR6 (long Story) and talk about a guzzler. 1.4 top all rounder.
  16. Theres to many muppets on the road toda- I am starting to get fed up of the ultra defensive driving I feel I have to use when I am out in the C. Can't wait to drive just a 'normal' car on the daily commute- knowing the C is safe and dry in the garage :) sounds about right. muppets. I have a normal car (E240 EVO) that I am getting rid of. Bought the Mrs a new Outlander couple of Months ago for the kiddies (top Value Motor but VERY Thirsty. I Clock up Thousands of Miles with my work so gonna ge me a bog standard polo (mabey) for the week days. Roll on the W/E
  17. N reg, July 96, Anybody gon any idea where I would find the whereabouts of VR6 reg L 593 XLK? according to Newreg.com, it never existed! sure I did not dream that one. Drive it, without a doubt. Gonna have me some fune tonight!
  18. Nop. I was just wrighting out a check for a K reg Auto with 52k on the clock when she poped up on the corrado club website. needless to say I bit her hand off. robed the bank (joke) and went straight down with the eadies. Best gamble I ever done. The lady driver ( A corker) had a tearfull moment when they parted. I Know how she felt. Had a show of emoticon when I had to part with my Beloved VR6 (L693xlk) wonder where she is now?
  19. Out in the grass lands in north Bucks (great VR6 roads) 14 odd miles west of MK. Tks 4 the advise. I is the general concencus and will go with it. Cheers.
  20. I'll second that, There are some good'uns out there. I waited 6 month and glad I did. D'ont be suduced by the C thing. as advised by CF, test drive as many as you can. that will sort the dogs from the bi*#hes!
  21. I Like the green with the cream, Not that practicable, but what the hell. its all about the go VR6MMMMMMM. Think has anybody regeristered the remaining no. of storms left. Sure alot have gone to the big grave-yard in the sky!
  22. classic green. Would pay hansomly for the mistic blue under 50K Miles.
  23. The car, i kid you not is mint. FVAGSH and standard. Have not got a Digi camara yet will be proud to post a pic when I do. Garden Gnome? I take your meaning and top reply. Gonna have me some smiles again!
  24. Hello All, and thank you CF for the excellant info on your site. it was verrrrry helpful when deciding to buy another VR6. The corrado is the best! What should I do? I have managed to buy a genuine storm for 6K. I gave them the asking price as I knew it was a bargin, straight clean, serviced and well cared for and only 47kmiles. Should I Hide it away and reep the benifits in years to come or should I drive it as it should? I Know there are some big spenders out there, and I was prepaired to pay handsomely for one as good as this. what do you think its worth? Thanks CF, and thanks for welcoming me into your circle.
