  4. Are you in a massive hurry mate? Asking 'cos I've got a load BUT I've got a busted ankle and they all in a bag in my underground garage.. I'll try and see if somebody could give me a lift down there. Send me your address in the mean time and I'll bung 1 in a jiffy bag and post it down. Left hand or right side?
  5. Welcome aboard! If you need bits give us a shout mate.
  6. All the best For 2017 My dear weasels!!!
  7. You don't wanna know mate.. Today I went back to the hospital to get the first cast removed and get The ankle x-rayed again. Thanks to the first dikhead doctor, who 'forgot' to Prescribe the necessary anti thrombosis injections I risked getting a blood Clot..and getting huge complications.. Possible death. Get this, when i first arrived in hospital, after waiting 6 hours I then had to walk to the cast dressing table 'cos there's no wheelchair available..i kid you not. I've got a broken ankle and I have to walk on my good leg, with no crutches (none available, my sister had to go outside the hospital and buy them) All in all, a pretty shiyte adventure..
  8. Have you tried to physically engage the motor into the bell housing? If you would have asked me I'd have given you a spare starter you donkey.. I've got at least 3..
  9. If I've still got It i could get you the number. I just need to find a way of getting down to my garage, it's underground and I've got a busted ankle.. I 'think' you can retro fit the older version but I don't remember if the locating stud on the cyl. Head is bigger than the version in your car's head. What's wrong with your tensioner? Noisy?
  10. Yep, exactly the same as mine.
  11. I've Got a different Version in My box of bits too, i think it was off the Audi 2.0 16v Engine but it's been ages so i'm not 100% sure. Can you put up a photo?
  12. HA HA..my dear ratty friends, i'm not working At all!!! At home..with a BLOODY BUSTED ANKLE! doing My nut in. My nasty 2 year old daughter trying to kick My cast, throwing things at me Too.. Bloody wretch..

  14. Merry xmas to all!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Got loads Bill, problem is that i've Got a busted ankle so it's gonna be ages till i can get To the post office mate..
  16. Thanks guys, Luckily no damage, just missed the point of having to be operated on too..
  17. Bloody black cat shot out across the road whilst I was on my way to work.. Scooters in Rome are a god send..untill something like this happens. How long am I realistically looking at before I can walk again or get up a ladder? Just what I needed for Christmas and new year. O well, chin up..
  18. Nothing different Bill, they'll both do the job fine. With studs and nuts it might be more difficult to actually remove the cover 'cos you'd have to lift it off add to that maybe a sticking gasket..whilst your in there, check the cam chain isn't too worn.
  19. Don't you mean bolts bill? Never seen a 9A's rocker cover fixed Down with studs.. 3 long bolts in the center, the rest are all shorter but all the same length. Seat those gaskets properly first and make sure the two half moon oil seals don't get dislodged whilst maneuvering the cover back in.
  20. I thought i knew all about these bloody engines.. Never even seen a ralley engine.. Why the Christ would Vw make the block smaller and use smaller pistons is beyond me, already having built the pg??? Pleeeeze enlighten me dudes.
  21. Jamie, didn't i sell you something a few months back?? your name rings a bell.. Mark answered first so i'll let him see your reply. Can't you use the ralley pistons?
  22. Ok, any type of high melting Point grease would do, i use moly as i have a big tub Left over. Another tip Bill, when refitting the gearbox, thread in a 13mm bolt into the gearbox to lock the arm in place using the threaded hole on top of the bellhousing, next to the round timing hole. This blocks the clutch arm in the position and won't allow the release bearing to slide off the inner carrier. But remember to unbolt it and remove it afterwards!!
  23. Bill, I take it you mean the clutch slave cylinder's actuator pin? The plastic end cap acts on the release arm's socket, the end without the plastic cup is pushed inside the slave cylinder's rubber grommet. Put some moly grease on both ends first and a little on the release arm hole too.
  24. Precisely what Mark says mate, I've also got s few sets but I'm not planning on giving them away..
