    Rear hubs

Ok heres the deal, we've only got a few VW spares places over here in Rome Henny, wanna laugh(or cry..) get this-2 rear hubs from local Stealer+ Discs=390euros,I just bought a compleat 2000cc 16valver for 500euros... with A/C,Leather etc. I'll go to my mate's breakers and get them off a golf 3 gti 16valver cost 80euros. Thanks anyway,Andrew.

    1st gear

Try adjusting the cables from the gearbox end, try changing gearbox oil to fully synth. grade, clutch drag?... PS,were's "frome"?
  3. Be carfull because the small screws are NOT designed to be removed 'cos their peened in with a special press meaning that you may well be able to loosen the screws but by doing so you stand a good chance of buggerin up the throttle shaft's thread... One way of removin a damaged screw is by using a product called "Screw grab",works like magic, exellent stuff.
  4. I've gone up against Italian modded delta Evos, modded sierra/escort cosworths with my corrado pg blocked turbo 16v,their quicker off the line than my corrado but when i'm in third upwards my car pi$$is all over them...,no chance they get close. I've tried a G60 coverted 2000cc 16v and i can assure you you won't stand a chance against that lot.... The only time i had to back off was when i locked horns with a Bmw M3 Turbo(GT40 Garret,3200cc,8 injectors,-FERKIN FAST!!).

    Rear hubs

Hello all, Does any one know if the rear 5 bolt hubs of a Golf 3 gti 16v bolt up to the rear axle of a corrado fitted with 4 bolt hubs?, I know VR6 hubs will but VR6 golfs/corrados are ultra rare over here in Rome.Thanks-Andrew.
  8. Try to clean the fuel metering plunger and housing with White spirit or carb cleaner, also check tht the air flow plate's not off center in the funnel.Be very carefull not to drop the fuel plunger...
  9. Check the fusebox/relays carefully, try this, while your trying to start the car, with one hand try moving the relays and fuse box connections with your other hand. My g60 turbo had the same problem, somtimes started, sometimes no spark at the plugs. Check also Ign.switch contacts. Regards,Andrew.
  10. Sorry, Ignore the bit about clingfilm, I was thinking about a different problem. Also check the internal heating rad/connections.Might be a small hair line crack on head that won't show up easily. If you can get hold of a pressure pump, install it,pump it up to recomended pressure and wait a couple of mins.,then check all the above and remove sparkplugs(hot engine), you'll probably find the leak.Be carefull not to cross thread plugs on hot cyl head, hope it helps,Cheers,Andrew.
  11. Hello mate, try to get hold of a cooling system pressure tester, rig it up and it should point you in the right direction. You could also attach some Clingfilm around the expansion bottle to see if the headgasket leaks.
  12. Hello mate,Check the large rubber inlet boot carfully for cracks, turn on ign.,does the idle valve buzz/humm?, no buzz=possibly seized valve.,clean with white spirit. Check Injector 'O' Rings for tight fit, sticking throttle cable,Inlet manifold Gaskets-spray with WD-40 with engine running,dirty/sticking throttle plates, check small 'O' Ring on idle screw carefully,Mine got spat out at 155mph going down Rome airport's motorway while"testing"...
  13. Hello Mistrall,I'm just starting to Turbo a Corrado 9A motor, I've done turbos on 1800 "KR" motors,Turbo 8v "PG" motors, 8v Turbo/G60(twin charged motor),16v "PG" blocked turbo engines...,If you need advice about Manegment, piping, turbo choice, injector choice, send me an E-mail,I'll try to help you out with the many possible pitfalls involved.Cheers,Andrew.
  14. Evening all,I need some advice on a few problems regarding the ABS warning Light on the Dash,it stays on and does not go out like it used to.This happend after I converted my G60 to run with a different Injection sistem;Weber/IAW.My Car runs ok,it has no Digifant components at all,the entire Wiring harness exept for the two main Earths are taped up.What I don't understand is how is the Digi G60 ECU is connected with the Abs?,the ABS ECU is still attached as is all wiring. Also I can't get my Rev counter to work either,I'm still using the original G60 Ignition Coil and I've tried to connect the Weber's Rpm Feed to the coil's green Wire,no joy.HELP me here PLEASE,the ABS I can do with out but on a Twin Cam 16VT the Rev counter I need.Ciao. PS,On my last Car-Golf 2 1800 16VT-the Rev counter worked fine when I connected the Weber's Grey/Black Rev counter Feed to +15 on coil....?
  15. Has anyone removed the front Scuttle Panel from Their Corrado?,the panel with the Frame number,I'm restoring a Corrado with a possible twisted Shell so I need some info on were there may be some hidden Spot-Welds.One thing I noticed is the Welds behind the Suspension Front Turrets, how the hell do I get to those???,Thanks for any help.
  16. Hello everyone, Here are a few answers to your questions, I can't fit the VR6 because of the crap Italian law,cos if the Italian old bill pull you with a Modded Motor, you risk a 350 Euro fine+instant confiscation of my beloved Corrado...,Belive me, i've thought many times of risking it,seeing as the Engine has only 29000km and also, every single part of my mates illfated Corrado was given to me FOC!.Anyway i decided to take out the VR's Pistons to see if they could be used for my next Engine,I personally think that these pistons look very good,i'll have to modify the 16v's Rods 'coz there sligtly wider on the small end. The ringlands should hold 1.2, 1.5Bar with spot-on tuning.By the way, does anybody know were i could get a PG or KR Block Deck plate for Honing from???.The Intercooler was lifted from an Iveco Daily TD Van,more or less the same size as a mitsi Evo one,Turbo A/R= .63 .60,Injection lifted from a Lancia Delta Evo 16 Turbo, common as chips here in Rome, bit like the various Cosworths in England.
  17. Hello again corrado lovers,I'm in need of advice.I've built a Turbocharged (Garret T35) 'PG' Block Engine, adding also a 'KR' 16 Valve Head,Weber/IAW Injection with twin Map Sensors,Modified Cams,Golf Tdi Tranny,8 '803' Green Fuel Injectors,Pectal board, etc, etc. When my Car was running 1,9 Bar Turbo pressure I can safely say It was quite an animal. The problem is that i've blown 2 Pistons and possibly damaged the Cyl Block,I've got hundreds of spares, including 4 spare 16v Pistons,8 spare G60 pistons, rods, blocks,Cranks, dozens of 16v cams, G60Cams.etc,etc,but I've also got a complet VR6 Engine with only 29000km's on the clock thats been in my Garage for the past 11 years now, what i'd like to know is the CC of the VR6 Pistons and 16v Head in order to work-out the Comp. Ratio of my 5th Engine,G60 Pistons+16v Head+Turbo(big)=MAJOR lag, while using 16v Pistons=broken Rings 'cos Fuel gets trapped at edges of Piston causing Detonation. Now i'd like to try the Vr6 ones.Sorry for the long Post,it's not every day I get to speak my own Lingo with English Dubbers., not many over here in Rome...
  18. Hello everyone,I noticed that many corrado owners are asking about different Injecion/manegment set-ups.i'd like to share my solution.I had many problems regarding re-chipping my Corrado G60,'cos over here in Rome not many people no these cars.eventually,I ordered a BBM stage 5 chip for my Turbo- converted 8v g60,result?, not very good, also because most off the shelf chips are for G-Ladder equipped moters, not programed for turbo boost.I eventually fitted the complete Injection system off a Lancia Delta Turbo 16v,if anyone wants any info regarding this swap, just let me know through the Forum.ciao.
