I've got a Bel Euro 550 in the cupboard not being used if you want a good detector.... Wassit worth? ;)
  2. Just don't park in low-ceiling'd multi-storeys - or any normal house garage to that effect too...
  3. 1995 car, so most likely Immobiliser. Plenty in the search about it ;)
  4. CorradoVR6-n.o.s, wrong way round. He's looking for the standard, non-GTI arms, that would have the normal blades. (Read the linked post)

ardandy, it's ok to mention the supplier when asking ICE advice... It won't be moved, don't worry.
  6. kevHaywire, 21" will fit on the Lupo windscreen, hence Bosche listing them as such. From Halfords, the Lupo ones are a 21" and a 19" combo - which just fit on the C actually, as I had that on mine. (I have the driver+passenger arms on the C - not the double-passenger option). Just ordered some Aero blades for the Passat, and within 10 mins my phone rang and they double checked the order with me, and made sure I'd ordered the right fitment (retro-fit Fusion instead of the Aero-arm fitment). Quality :) Informed them their Passat listings are wrong too.. '97-'01 is labelled as Mk4.
  7. Haha! They wonder what the turbo lag is like on the G60! Dealers know squat!
  8. Front reminds me of the FXO GTR from http://www.liveforspeed.net (fictional car in a very accurate racing simulator) I realise a lot of responses will be negative - but I tend to agree with the well done on the effort. The mod'ing scene is all about unique - and you certainly get that flag. A darn sight better than a MkIV Golf front end!
  9. It's ironic, but when this site started - the best advice we could give was to get everything from Eurocarparts and GSF to save money.... Few years on, and all those parts have already failed, giving us all the lightbulb moment of that OEM, which lasted the 7 years previous, is actually better... It may be 50% more expensive, but lasts 200% longer. So it all depends if you live your life one pay cheque at a time, or want to actually fix your car and not have to do the job again.
  10. Although I just sold mine, was on 208,500 miles and pulling strong... Nowt wrong with it!

    Wood Dash

I'd agree though in that it's certainly not suitable in a Corrado.

Nothing wrong with wood interiors - you just need the right car to pull it off ;) http://upload.the-corrado.net/files/1/P ... s/c2_3.JPG
  13. Interesting.... I'd need to check they'd fit the Syncro though - it's a weird one ;) Most things are normally listed as "excluding Syncro model"...
  14. You can laugh, but I have parked in a Taxi Rank already and a cabby stopped me and I just said I didn't have my plates on and need to pop in somewhere and he believed me :) Can't do that in a Corrado ;) Anyway, Skodas are for cabbies now! :)
  15. Spec they are 193bhp and 207lb/ft - will get it remapped and roaded at some point though. Good for 210bhp when remapped, apparently.
  16. Yup, my Passat Synchro is essentially a Audi A4 Quattro with a Passat shell on the top. The 30v engine is Audi's creation too. Quattro is just a brand name for the Torsen-diff-linked 4wd system - as is Synchro. So yeah, it's a proper 4wd ;) And apparently to marry up to the Synchro/Quattro system you have to have the engine inline and not transversely mounted. Whereas the 4motion system can be driven by a transversely mounted engine if required. That would explain the different (Audi 30v) engine instead of the 'usual' 2.8 24v VW one. (I've been doing a little reading... hehe)
  17. Synchro is permnament 4wd, with Torsen diffs. (Audi Quattro style) 4motion is via Haldex, which only puts power to the rear wheels when the front wheels slip - 4motion is essentially FWD until it needs the rear wheels to help with grip. Synchro is heavier than 4motion but is true AWD where as 4motion, despite the name, isn't. Kinda. ;)
  18. Here's the new toy... Will take a lot more pics when she's clean again and I'm actually not at work and it's light out! ;)
  19. Not myself - but if one comes up for sale I would be interested!
  20. True, though I have to admit, the handling of a 4wd Passat is, well, astounding.... Roundabout at 65mph anyone? ;)
  21. Well, had the C for 3 years, so got it when I was 22... Insurance was fun ;) Ah, it's good being old now... hehe
  22. Not sure to be honest.... will see what turns up ;)
  23. Timo., as an engine it's not as 'spirited' as the ol' 12v, but the torque kicks in a lot lower, and pulls a lot firmer through the rev range. Motorways are where it comes into it's own - sooo easy to drive and pulls through to naughty-mph without any effort at all! Better mpg too. Done over 500 miles since purchase (busy Easter weekend) and average 31mpg on the motorways. It's £50 to fill up to the C's £60, and I've been getting 400 miles to a tank to the C's 300... so a lot better in that sense! Though I do drive the Passat a lot more relaxed and did tend to hoof the C around all the time ;) No need to rush in the Passat at all. So relaxing and comfy in there! I've even got Classic FM as a preset on the Radio... ;) The C was on 208k miles and the P (!) has just clocked onto 85k.
