  1. Nick, martinb's only offering the discount forum members already get with HIC. It's been in place for about a year, but it's only recently I added the advert to make it more obvious. Regardless, welcome aboard Martin. Guess this forum is under the watch for HIC customers who might not be declaring mods too, eh? ;) Forum members also get a discount with Brentacre Insurance too (who also read the forum - but don't post).
  2. But everyone know's hover-boards don't work on water, McFly!
  3. As quicky1980 says, I've fitted the Laserline kit which replaces your number plate holder on my Passat. I got the kit from MotorWorld (plus some scotch-locks and some tape) for £66 all-in (they were £79.99 rrp at the time), haggling for a bit of local-business discount (it works!). http://www.motor-world.co.uk/show_prod. ... d_id=10519 Works really well actually, as the 'rats big arse is difficult to judge.
  4. Depends how long you want it to last! Bending the rubber pipes into angles they're not supposed to be in, will cause kinks under pressure regardless of how well you try and manouver it. Which in turn will be a weak spot, and eventually will cause the pipe to split. Using a U'y will ensure they live longer ;)
  5. Sorry, no, but I got mine from Euro Car Parts and they found it on their system fine and seemed solid quality. I take it you'll have similar companies in Germany who can source pattern parts? Or is OEM cheap enough?
  6. Nope, but its fairly obvious. There's two tubes which disappear into the firewall in the middle of the right hand side - just pop both those off, and put the U'y between the two pipes.
  7. Get to a Plumbase or similar and get something like this made up: They did it for free and it lasted for months without any probs. The double-collars worked excellently as guides for the jubilee clips to hold onto.

  9. HIC, previously known as "Herts Insurance Consultants" are proud to offer up to 10% discount to all corrado-forum.net users. Simply mention THE Corrado Forum when calling for your quote to qualify for the discount! https://www.hertsinsurance.com/
  10. My Mum's disabled - and rightly so (i.e. not milking). She'll complain and get your car towed if you park in Disabled bays, so make sure you don't go shopping when she does! I've already towed one illegally parked car out of a private car park with the Passat (4wd and V6 rules!) and dumped it on the road. Had dodgy tax so I called the council then too. If you don't want your C dented or damaged, go in a different car.. Or shop online! Saves on car parking dents then...;)
  11. Don't think VAG-COM is that in-depth on the Corrado. Aux Water Pump runs after engine-switch off sometimes, as with the fans. It's likely it's just that that you're missing. Not that important in hot weather, as it's rapid-cooling of the block it's trying to prevent.

  13. The problem's will arise in that narrow-block V8s are generally transverse and marry up to driveshafts for a RWD car. However, if you can fit a V8 in an MX5, I'm sure it could be done in the Corrado. You have an unused transmission tunnel, so you probably could RWD the Corrado at the same time, just to be more unique ;) Narrow, eg. Rover V8s are grunt, not speed, so oodles of torque, but only 150bhp. But, being the favourites of the Yanks, mod-a-plenty to get serious power out of pretty much any V8 design can be got ;)
  14. Agreed. I've had Cliffords on two of my cars... Yes, an alarm is only as good as the installer - and these two were installed brilliantly, however, that doesn't stop the hardware giving up, or changing it sensitivity when you're away on holiday and you come back to a wrath of angry neighbours, etc... Passat has factory alarm, and it's staying like that!
  15. Find the sensor - will be central in the car, i.e. under the gear stick by the Diagnostic connector - it will have a screw on it and + / -. Turn screw towards -.
  16. The car hasn't been unveiled yet, so no, that's not it! Calm down, dear. It's only a mock-up.
  17. We will be having an exclusive review and photos from the launch event, so don't worry ;)
  18. Well that's ok then ;)
  19. Just a word of warning, it's actually illegal to insure a car which already has an insurance policy somewhere else. So if it's your g/f's car (and she's already insured), and you're trying to insure it through your insurance so you can drive it for a bit - it actually makes your insurance null and void. Only one policy can be on a car at any one time (else in theory you could claim on both if you had an accident). (Why do I know all these useless facts?)
  20. However, not legal. Cancelling the policy will cancel the policy from the begining - so you will have been driving without insurance, basically...
  21. jedi-knight83 is on his second S3, so I'm sure he will know it all! :)
  22. Ah true, Jay'll like the 'newness' of that.. Basising the Corrado on a Mk4 Golf is so last year... Mk5 Golf Internals now, please! (Then I'll buy it off you in 2 years time when you get your next itch.. :))
  23. Anyone done a Corrado RWD V8 yet? That'd be different... ;)

It's possible its more than one curcuit that's doing the damage too.. Anyhow - good luck!

    battery drain!!!

Pull out all your fuses then put 'em back one by one until you find the one which kicks you over the 10 amps... (Note down which go where before you pull 'em out though)
