  1. You are correct in that the section on the V5 for export is for use if you are personally exporting it. There are two ways you can do this, which you do depends on how much you trust the buyer. First way is to hand the V5 over to the new owner and trust them to re-register it in their country. Second way is to put their details in the new owner section of the V5 & post it to the DVLA in Swansea, The DVLA will not be able to register it in their name & they will post the V5 to the new owner at their address with a letter attached telling them to take the V5 to their registration authority to register it.
  2. Roll out the drivers seatbelt, clip it on to the bonnet release lever and then retract it so that it pulls the lever and holds it tight, then go round and lift the bonnet, you may need to push down slightly and then lift, if its just stretched cables it should open. Obviously won't work if the cable has snapped.
  3. I would say the exchange rate between the Euro and Sterling has a lot to do with the increase in prices, every £1 is not buying as much as it used to, so prices go up.
  4. I definitely agree with the above, the amount of times I have read on line about certain parts being obsolete or one dealer has said they were obsolete and another can get them from Germany is unbelievable. Also worth a try is the CLassic Parts Centre in Wolfsburg http://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/ they pick up on parts supply for older models when VW dealers drop them.
  5. Good to see you back in a Corrado, got to have a look at your old one in the flesh last year and I was blown away by the standard of work that went into it :notworthy: Looking forward to seeing what you do this time :)
  6. This one any better for you?
  7. Supercharged has already posted the VW part number. The Wurth stuff is 00985 12 Fire and Water Resistant Tape, matches the OE VW tape perfectly.
  8. Wurth do the fabric tape, so do VW actually, I'll dig the part numbers for them out now shortly for you.
  9. How long is it since the ATF fluid and filter was changed? A simple fluid change can make a massive difference in an autobox if the fluid in it is old.
  10. Vehicle id is the Chassis No, ie WVWZZZ50Z.K...... Engine no is the block no for the engine, ie 9A.... for a 2.0 16v KR.... for a 1.8 16v PG.... for a G60, don't know what the VR6 or 2.0 8v start with
  11. http://automuseum.volkswagen.de/urkunden.html Fill the form in and enter your credit card details, costs €35 and will come out in the post, or if you are over at the automuseum you can order one there, but it takes a few weeks and still comes in the post.
  12. Here is one I got for my old one:
  13. I would not normally bother replying, but I think Jim is looking at it the right way, it could be a LOT worse. For example, here are the tax rates you would pay if you were here: Engine size cc 12 Months tax in Euro Not over 1,000 172 1,001 to 1,100 259 1,101 to 1,200 286 1,201 to 1,300 310 1,301 to 1,400 333 1,401 to 1,500 357 1,501 to 1,600 445 1,601 to 1,700 471 1,701 to 1,800 551 1,801 to 1,900 582 1,901 to 2,000 614 2,001 to 2,100 784 2,101 to 2,200 823 2,201 to 2,300 860 2,301 to 2,400 895 2,401 to 2,500 935 2,501 to 2,600 1,120 2,601 to 2,700 1,164 2,701 to 2,800 1,204 2,801 to 2,900 1,248 2,901 to 3,000 1,293 3,001 or more 1,566 I'd love to be paying your rates :help:
  14. I would normally use the hammered in Torx myself method, but I don't have these Irwins things, if I had then I think I would use them.
  15. I would say this is the one you were looking for http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=65658
