  1. Ok thanks I'll give it a go!

It comes about an inch and then stops. I took my old one apart and there are 2 clips right at the front, one at each side, which I'm sure it is unclipping from.

But the the middle part of the interior panel starts to tilt and then it won't come any further.

I think its the chrome metal parts that make it tilt with the exterior panel as thats what broke off last time. Will it not sanp them if I pull it hard?

  2. Hi Guys!

    I know I know....another sunroof thread!

Trying to fit a new working sunroof into my corrado, its all apart but I need to swap my panel over to the new unit.

I need to pull back the interior panel, the article I printed off (THink it was from the knowledge base??) was really helpful up to now, but for this bit it just says 'release the clips'

    .... what clips???

I can't see anything obvious and when I took my old one apart I broke the tabs that make the inner interior panel tilt when you tilt the sunroof, as I pulld the panel too hard, so am very paranoid about doping it again!

    Please help! :(

P.S. I know i'm probably being a dunce but i'm paranoid I'm gonna break it!

  3. Ok....have read all the posts but still not 100%.

Now I've sold the golf I want to look into getting an exhaust for the G60.

Thing is, I want it to sound standard, like its not got an aftermarket exhaust at all, when driving around town or on the motorway. Ideally a stock looking oval tailpipe too. Needs to be CAT back to (well, CAT replacement pipe back)

I was thinking miltek but going on this thread I'm not so sure. I had a jetex on the golf and really liked that.

From this thread its seems to be

    1) Magnex (Which to be honest I've never liked, the golf came with one and was drony and loud, and the fit was crap) or ...

    2) Supersprint.

    3) G-werks exhaust

Or OE, but can you still get them, and are they very expensive?

I don't want to spend a load of cash and realise its no better. It needs to be subtle and stock sounding, so is stock best?

Fitting's not an issue as I'll do it myself!

    :)

  4. You don't *need* to go for higher wattage bulbs... you *can*, and there's *slightly* less risk of you frying anything or melting the reflector dish in the headlight than there was before..

    Standard bulbs are 55/60 watts.

    Ok cheers,

Is there much of an improvemnet or is it not really worth it?

  5. Sorry to highjack....

Just wondering what wattage bulbs corrado's should have?

I've put an uprated wiring loom in mine now, and it mentioned I could run 'higher watt/uprated bulbs'....but what do I need to go for?? :)

  6. Hi All!

I've just picked up a set of 15" E30 BMW BBS Cross Spokes for the corrado, as they look much like the original G60 wehels, only slightly wider and with a lower offset. Happy days.

They're 7J ET24 and currently have 205-50-15's on them. The offset means they fill the arches quite nicely but the tyres a bit too chubby.

I wondered what tyre sizes would be right for them...

Basically if there was no other variables in it I'd go for 195-45-15's for looks, but I can't run the car too low, and so I'd risk having comedy arch gap syndrome, which I don't want

195-50-15's would obviosuly give me less clearance, but the stock stealthy OEM look, and obviosuly more arch fillage.

Is there much difference in the ride? Anything else I need to consider? any other tyres to consider? The car's had no archwork, and I'm not sure how much lowered it is, but it is on fuly adjustable coilies.

Any help much appreciated, also if anyone's got any 195-50-15's or 195-45-15s lying about they want to sell cheap...let me know!

    Cheers,

    Tom :)

  7. no idea which fuse the reversing lights are on... you may also want to check the switch on the gear linkage in the engine bay as these have a nasty habit of being knocked off by cack-handed mechanics...

Ok....Took every single fuse out of the fusebox and they're all fine, so that can be ruled out!

Where is the switch for the reversing lights on the gearbox?? I think that must be the culprit, other wise I have no idea!!

    Eeek....MOT imminent as well! :(

  8. Hi Guys!

Tried a search on this but nothing really helpful came up!

I picked up a set of standard rear lights for the Corrado as it had after market ones in, all went in ok but went to check all the lights work ok and then the problems started.....

The Reversing lights don't work. Checked the bulbs, all fine. looked at the wiring, this is where the fun started....

On the driver's side light cluster there are two holes in the back, one for the fog and one for the reversing light. But theres only one plug going to the bulb holder tray thing. The bulb that this plug goes to lights up when you turn the fogs on.... that side looks like this...

    DSC00887a.jpg

On the passenger side, there's only one hole on the rear of the light cluster as the other is blanked (You only need a rear fog light on the drivers side for uk don't you??) But there are two plugs going into the bulb holder tray thing. A black, white and red plug that works the fog light again (bottom in the picture), and one that I guess is the reversing light, which doesnt work (top in the picture)

    like this...

    DSC00886a.jpg

Odd thing is that the two wires (Black and grey I think) that come out of the one on the passenger side that doesnt work (What I thought would be the reversing light) go straight across to the driver's side plug which is for the fog light....

I'm very confused, but the bottom line is that I have two plugs on the side where I need one, one plug on the side where I need two, the loom hasn't been butchered and the odd plug won't reach to the other side. And I have no reversing lights, or wiring diagram.

    :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

What the **** is going on???

  9. Does anyone know where I can get hold of how to adjust it....an instruction manual etc???

Seems to be that Scorpion have gone belly up....anyone confirm this?

Need to find that model number...is it likely its stamped on the 'brain' thing, and is it likely that that'll be somewhere under the dash/centre console?

Soo many questions, still feeling like a n0000000b when it comes to corrados!

  10. That was one of the things that really annoyed me about the black keys and the later orange wing nut style; they had no indication on for anti clock soft, clockwise hard. There was a diagram in the instructions that said anti clock (pictorially) was Komfort and clockwise (again pictorially) was Sportlich. I used to get people asking which one was hard and which was soft.

I have the later orange wing nut key!

Thanks very much for your help, your exlanation was spot on!! :)

  11. Weitec still operate using there name,as do kw,you say you have a key to change the settings on top of the struts, has it got anything like a + or - on it at all?

No such luck I'm afraid! :)

Just to check..... Anticlockwise is softer....clockwise is harder?? :)

  12. Thanks very much for your help! I'll look into it!

On your question, the later style sunroofs are set up to take full closure, early ones are not.

However, you can buy kits (I know laserline do them, have seen a few on ebay) which you can wire into the alarm and sunroof wiring that will let it close the sunroof too I think!

Cheers Again, you're a very knowledgeable lot! :)

  13. Hi guys!

My 91 G60 has a Scorpian Alarm fitted, and today I alarmed it with the windows open, and I think it must have full closure (well, the windows) because the passenger window tried to shut. It closed about 2 inches, then stopped, then the car beeped.

So I disarmed it, then re-armed, and it went up another 2 inches. I did this about 10 times (must have annoyed the neighbours!) and eventually both windows were closed.

Now, going on the fact that in an ideal world when I press the button, the passenger window should slide up to closed, then the drivers side follows suit, is there anything that might be causing it to not go all the way up?

Its almost like the alarm is confusing itself and sensing the power going to the window switches, and stopping it.

    Any help much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Tom
