  1. Late to the party...

Plug that goes in the rear of guage is 1J0972704

000979133E is the wire set. You need 4 wires, but you can get away with 2 as they have connectors both ends.

I used a duel pole sender V360023. Need to take headlight out to fit.

Wiring if you want volt meter on permantly take the voltage wire to battery... otherwise link off light in glovebox.

    Illumination takes off cig lighter.

    Negative to ground of car.

Pressure wire to sender... simple installation.

  2. Excellent, would be good to see pics. Could you WhatsApp me if I sent you my number please?

Sorry chris don’t do WhatsApp... will try and get some pictures up by weekend..

  3. I’m winning it’s quite simple... just need two new plastic side plates. Thanks all for advice.

What’s best to clean leather.. baby wipes.

Wish I could post a picture... looked like a mouse had been eating the old foam totally fallen apart.

  4. Ha ha - yeah, when those tape mechanisms go wrong all bets are off! I once had to remove and open a unit up to get a jammed cassette out - that was fun, not.

cant beat a home recording of the top 40 on a TDK C90....

  5. The evaporator is behind the glovebox and bolted through the air vent. On removing the complete unit it was an absolute pain to split. I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you have a problem with the evaporator. I still haven't sourced a replacement yet..

Is this a good replacement part for the condenser

Just sheared the lower connection off mine.

Part number cross references, just wondering on quality.

  6. I used a trolley Jack with a block of wood. Left it there for months and was fine supporting it as only the front mount is removed. Good luck with it.

I did try replying off my phone yesterday, but only got that stupid error coming up!!

Founds some nuts. So put the bumper bolts back in, to support the engine while the bumper is out

  7. Jobs to do while the front bumper is off...

I’ve changed all the air co pipes and seals... new receiver drier... condenser and compressor look okay.

Any maintenance needed on the compressor apart from new belt..

Where’s the evaporator in the passenger foot well ... not looked yet.

Any thing else need doing before recharge.

  8. Will remove the front bumper at the weekend.. I've got a few thought but what's the best way to support the engine with the bumper off... need to have a good look at the weekend really.
