Sorry posted the grill on the wrong thread.moving
Thought so....

I have a very late front grill , after speaking to Vince he explained to me that the very late grills (last year or so) only have one opening to Chanel air into the radiator . I have now ordered a late style grill to help cool the radiator which has three opening vents. The reason they blocked the grills was to help with emissions apparently but crap for cooling.Run out grills blocked

Not aware of the emissions reason... thought it was just for countries in northern climates...
I changed my grill too.

Well done mate. Simple but effectiveMay chop the wires down and attach cord to either end of the wire and attach the cord to the underside of the slam panel. May look neater.

I have a piece of wire wrapped around each of the releasing rods that the trumpets pull against. These hang out of the way each side of my grille and with some clever hooking, can be fished through the grille. A pull on each releases each side. Works for me and there for an emergencyDid an emergency release for my bonnet this morning... need to hide the wires a bit better as you can see them through the grill but they work

Ok, so I have finally received a reply from webasto diavia....We do NOT have any of these evaporators and will NOT be remanufacturing them.....
So, I'm going to contact some companies about making an exact replacement. If nothing in England then I'll even get the Chinese to help me.
If I can sort this and anyone else wants one, I will post up beforehand.
I won't be beaten
Keep us informed.. I could be interested... thanks

Nice bonnet fix... I heard that you can put an emergency pull cord somewhere in the mechanism. So if it fails you have a way of opening it from inside the grille

Struggling to sort my receipts, but...I purchased my condensor from Autoaircon parts for just under £100 and delivered. It is a universal part SSP022301 that cross references to the Diavia item. Just be careful with the bottom hose connection....
And the receiver drier I purchased was a HELLA 8FT351199-011 OE £21.36 0ff Ebay. Again this is a universal item but I went for the branded item. I also purchased a mixed set of aircon O rings. What I am still trying to source is the replacement Evaporator.... no luck so far, but I will add to this thread when I have sorted it
Any joy with the replacement evaporator, did you change any pipes in your installataion

any idea if the relays get warm when the lights are on ???
thinking about putting the relays in a waterproof electric box or even something as crude as a sealed plastic bag...
wondering if the relays need any ventilation, or will the relays get hot and melt plastic.

but it would be nice to own a car with that mileageI do...hence the interest..

Does anyone think it will sell?I'm pretty certain it won't, but we shall see.
Doubt it. But you never know... I was at coys auction preview today at Blenheim palace... had some ropy cars at high prices then you pay 15 percent buyers premium.

Thread revival....
Any modern ideas for better garage lighting...
Currently have 3 very old strip lights.. they really need replacing...
It’s a double garage.. walls are painted white, with a light grey reflective floor...
But really do need better light... one problem is I’m limited to lights at the back of the garage as their is no room at the front as the garage door would obstruct when up. I have ladders on the walls and shelving so wall mounting is a problem.... I
