  1. Thanks Fla!! Just got chance for a proper look after putting the little one to bed. And with thanks to my iTorch I can conclude it is actually coil pack number 1 that has cracked & burnt! :S

Your advice will come in very handy in the future no doubt, ha ha.

    Thanks :)

  2. Hi all. I apologise for lack of recent posts! Been super busy being Mom, ha.

Anyway today I had to limp my corrado home & I'm hoping one of you rado wizz's can help identify my problem.

Basically it tried cutting out as I approached traffic. I managed to catch it from stalling but it began to run really lumpy. Almost as if a spark plug wasn't working. It was misfiring & definite power decrease. Almost smelt like it was hot as well. Sounded a bit like a machine gun & juddering when going along as well, ha.

So if anyone has any theories I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts!

    Many thanks Hev :)

  3. My other half and i spent last weekend in Wales and had a real relaxing time other than when it came to getting off the drive!

For those of you who dont know me my VR6 is rather low to say the least and it was a miracle it even got up the drive! Got my better half to get it off the drive the first day but after that i thought damn it if some one is going to put it in the wall it may aswell be me! So as the vid will show you it was all good fun

Oh and i might just add my car is normally alot cleaner, honest

  4. Going to west wales tomorrow for a long weekend! Hoping to spot some Corrado's! Travelling about 100 miles (Kiddy-Tywyn) so i should spot some abw, will keep you posted

Good to know there's another C in Kidderminster, wish there wer more meets and stuff around our way :(

I'll keep an eye out for you!

Will keep my eye open for you too! We did used to have semi regular meets with the worcester & localish area clans but havent had one for a while, will see who i can nag and what we can do! 8)

  5. Done a round trip of 250 miles yesterday,to Santa Pod ! Only saw one C ! and that was a race car ! Didnt see Ugly Bloke

and believe nobody saw me !

Note to myself must disarm my captured Klingon cloaking device

enjoy pic of V8 Corrado, didnt race Saturday,so no times

I saw that Corrado at Santa pod on 12th April, was rather quick and rather nice! Did a 9 second pass! We went down in the Mk2 golf as the grass car park is a bit too bumpy and un even for my rather low Corrado. :D

  6. Blue VR in kidderminster today by habberly roundabout, I was in a Corrola so couldn't catch up :(

That would be me if it was an M reg! There are a few local Corrado's in Kiddy area so i wont get too excited incase it wasnt me you spotted, ha ha. Still i will give half a cheer! ha ha. Will keep my eye's peeled for Corrolas and Corrados from now on :D

  7. Your best bet is to phone your local vdub dealer and they will be able to give you the part numbers with no obligation to buy from them. Although you will probebly find that will be the route you'll have to go down!

    Hope this helps.

  8. Hi to all!

Can't believe i havent been on here for ages, how time flys! My Corrado and I are well! ha ha. Although i am missing my ariel as some swine must have stolen it on friday night! Some people eh! :censored: Anyway hope to attend some meets this year and looking forward to any local meets too!

    Happy motoring all!

    Hev

  9. Herisites i bought my MK1 6 years ago for £500. It was very standard looking and needed abit of Tlc. Ive kept it fairly standard just tidied her up. So hopefully you will find one in similar condition. You will save a packet if your planning to do some of the work yourself. Definately alot cheaper than buying a MK6 and damn site more attractive  Keep me posted with your mission!

  10. Well Cheesewire lets agree to disagree on the MK1  I'll be round with the pitch fork later  Nah only joking, each to there own.

At least we both have the common interest of the Corrado at heart. Oh and i do understand that everybody is differant and that is a good thing, life would be abit boring otherwise. I just get abit protective over my 4 wheeled kids :luvlove: As long as its a VW its good enough for me :notworthy:

boost monkey i'll have sweet popcorn please, i expect cheesewire would prefer salted

Herisites Great news that your getting a mk1 2  You wont regret it, great fun and yes very cool motor 8)

  11. Yuck is all i have to say about the proposed mk6!!

Think i'll stick with my MK1 gti. As for your comments cheesewire i think you and i need words :censored:

The MK1's are great fun, yes compared to nowerdays standards they are abit dated but for the time they were damn good. Plus with a few tweaks here and there all of cheesewires negative comments can be updated and bettered. If your ever up my kneck of the world i'll take you for a spin in my MK1 GTI 1800 and see if i cant change your opinoin of them....That is if your man enough to go out in a proper car, one that you have to actualy drive and doesnt do everything for you??

I think i have the best of both worlds, MK1 Golf gti and Corrado VR6! Wouldnt swop or change either of them! Proper VDub nut

  12. My other half went to the Easter Thunderball High Octane event at Santa Pod yesterday. He's really into his Hot Rods and owns a 1953 Ford Pop Hot Rod rover v8! I was unable to go as i was at work. He rang me to say there was a Corrado Hot Rod there doing 8 second standing quater miles!! How annoyed was i then to be stuck at work  Anyway he took some photos and i feel obliged to share them with you all, so here they are

  13. I would recomend the Mk2. Both cars are great motors and both can hold their own if you know what i mean. However the Mk3's are renowned for problems relating to the standard alarms fitted to them. Alot of people i know who have had them all say they would not have another Mk3 because of this!

Basicaly the alarm malfunctions and will lock you out of the car! Which then means calling RAC or AA for a trailer ride to you local VW main dealer. Who will then charge you an arm and a leg to get into your motor and re programme your alarm and change your barrels(doors and igniton) However if you prefer the look of the Mk3 and your a mechnic or know some one who works at VW then go for it.

Finaly as a women i find the Mk2 a more sexy looking motor. It will cost you less, their great on fuel, reliable and will do you right!

Hope you make the right choice for you, but i know which motor i would take home! 8)
