  1. Thanks. I don't think an uprated loom has been fitted, but some previous owner obviously fancied themselves as a bit of an electrician, as I had a problem before when the fuel pump was wired into the indicators. If I find the man who did it...

If it's not an uprated loom (i.e. it's still sporting its original) what else could it be?

  2. Anyone got further with this? Am thinking of getting some overlays for the rears, and Empire do the fronts as well:

They say "We recommend 40 mil clear for headlights, but only 20 mil clear for fog & turn signals"

Would this keep them road legal? I'm not so bothered about being stopped and asked to remove them. The bigger headache is being involved in a crash, and then the insurance turning round and saying "you've illegally modified your car - your insurance is invalid"

How have people got on with this? And did anyone try the blue tint on the wing mirrors?

  3. Right, am getting very confused. Have searched a billion posts on here and read all about the red tint/green bulb/LED scenarios. I thought that the overlays from Empire Graphics solved this as they have strips cut into them to let the light through:

I was literally about to go off and order some... but now I've actually plugged my brain in, the striped bits aren't over the indicators - doh!

Are there the same issues with the smoked overlays, or do the indicators just shine through orange? I think red would look better, but I haven't got time to start wiring in transistors for LEDs, and the green bulb scenario never seems to be ideal. Anyone with smoked lights (tinted or overlayed) got any ideas?

  4. Have been searching through hundreds of threads but have not found what I need.

Does anyone have some photo's of their C with the Empire Graphic overlays on? Preferably a moonlight blue, or similar dark colour?

Don't have time to tint my rears, and this seems like a cheap and easy option, but need to know if they will look ok. Am thinking all red might be the way to go, then paint my callipers red to match. But smoked rears, and smoked side indicators would also look good on a moonlight blue C.

    Any pics? Anyone?

  5. I'd rather spend the money on something to make mine go faster...

Never ashamed of how old my car is. When I bought it, a mate's mum asked "Why have you sold one M reg car and bought another M reg car?"

Answer: This one goes much faster...

  6. Right. So need to buy a brand new second hand near side window. The pre-cut kits aren't much more. How difficult is it to cut the rolls to fit? I imagine I have to make a template with paper first? Or I could do what my neighbour has done. He didn't want to pay for a roll of tint to screen off the back windows of his van, so he's used some sawn down wooden interior louvre doors. Interesting look...

  7. I'm a teacher, and some of the little feckers at my school throw rocks randomly into the teachers' car park. There are now two bumps on my bonnet, which I've been told can't really be fixed due to where they are. There's also a TT in there and a Boxster. I asked my form what their dream car would be.

    Answer: a Corsa. Pimped.

So much to teach, so little time. My powers are weak...

  8. Not a fan of the man myself, but as you say, he does have a point. A night time race around London would be sweet. Historic landmarks, beautiful cars, Lewis Hamilton on pole, Alonso in the barriers...

    Sounds good doesn't it?

  9. I'm thinking of getting mine tinted. Anyone got any thoughts on:

    1. pre-cut window kits for a Corrado (about £40)

    2. rolls of tint-film (is this easy to do,or will it just look sh!te when it's done?)

    3. Getting it tinted professionally (don't they just use rolls of window tint like I would?)

I've also got a scratch on my near side window. Will this need replacing before I get it tinted?

    Cheers,

    Chris
