Daily or every second day driver here - bought at 36,000 five years ago and now just over 75,000 on the clock.

Not low at all. I run Boge sports shocks and H&R springs and the ride is just a little lower than normal and very comfortable.

Headlight uprated looms, possible different solution.
fendervg replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in Exterior
This is mine before it went in: http://www.corrado-database.nl/index.php?item=view_media&sc_id=3471&media_id=30045_6870 But I like the idea of having everything hidden away apart from the wiring. -

I simply put the relay part of the loom into a waterproof box from Maplins - the cables come out through some kind of round connector. HAs worked well for me. -

The newer aerials carry the current for the amplifier in the base over the aerial cable, the older ones like mine have a seperate live feed that plugs into the base - so check what you have and make sure you get the correct one. You can get bases and aerials all over the place.

Rare/Sought After/Desirable Corrado parts - What Ya Got?
fendervg replied to Jamie's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah, it's very simple and comes with clear instructions. I used posi twist/posi tap connectors to splice into the loom and they haven't given me any trouble in over 4 years. One of the first mods I did on the electrics along with the auxiliary gauges. -
I have one of the shorter arials and it updates the car nicely.

Smoke and mirrors...that's what I Corrado is held together with! If you treat the seals/rubbers with silicon spray regularly it stops them from deteriorating. Apparently it should be standard VAG maintenance procedure.

I have the comfort indicator in mine - works very nicely. -
Tell me about it. Mine's a daily driver as well, and my RHS electric window has just stopped working, so I have to get out and wipe it on the outside on these cold and damp mornings. Not too many probs with condensation inside the car though, and the heater makes it nice and toasty quickly.

@science - check out this old thread: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=46616 -
AFAIK you need to use a T piece and sender, or you can get a 2 pole sender that does both the low pressure warning and drives a gauge. Mostly found on Audi Coupes with the 3 dial aux gauge panel. I did mine with a VDO sender and a connecting piece that has the existing pressure sender sat on top and the new sender to the side.

Could this be right? Brand new VR6 steering wheels fom VW Classic?
fendervg replied to Hofmiester's topic in Ebay and Misc
I'll pull out if that is ok. -
You need to remove the wheel and the cowling to get to it. For the wheel, pull off the horn cover, unclip the horn wire on the inside, and then a 24mm socket to undo the nut that holds it on. The cowling has three screws underneath (need a long thin screwdriver for this), but most have them missing so it might just clip off. The stalks are then held on with long screws - you'll see them, and there is a multiplug connector or two going to them that you need to unclip. Not sure from memory if the MFA stalk on the right needs to come off first or not to get to the indicator one.

If you mean the trim clips, you can still get a lot of them through the dealers.

Just a 24mm socket as far as I remember. Carefully pop off the warning horn cover in the middle by pulling the corners in turn and you'll see the nut holding it on. -

I've dealt with Peter before - he's a nice guy and very quick to come back to you. It would be nice to negotiate a club discount with them as well. -
Funny - I meant pipe

Fuel wipe weeping? I think they are stainless on the 16v k-jet though? There are small washers on the junctions as far as I remember from my Audi Coupe Quattro inline five days.

What body work needs to be done on the grey car? It looks ok in the pics. I'm biased anyway as I have a pearl grey myself ;)

Must have the plastic tube that the water lead from the reservoir connects to intact, as this is what broke on mine, leaving a nice mess in the boot. I know you can get replacement nozzles, but the old one would not come out, even with drilling. Many thanks - postage is to Dublin, Ireland please.

Is there any way to make the site easier to read by having more contrast or changing the colours of the text? I found the old forum much easier to read, and now the search box is quite hard to make out. Thanks.
