  1. Get a GoPro and film the awesome trip from your bonnet like I did ;)

Good idea. Add it to my list.

She's going in for the Service and Cams and other work listed above tomorrow.

Need to find some red or blue HT leads that will fit now.

    Anyone got a link?

  2. magnecors are slightly too thick for the plastic channels. You could file the retaining lugs down a tad. Otherwise there are some black ones (cant remember where from) for around £40 which seem to get good reviews

Any other decent ones I can buy that are red or blue?

  3. Got a price from Midland VW

    Fit 263 cams £240

    New followers £120

    Both gaskets £25

Oil Sump & gasket inc. fitting will be £140 (if they can get hold of genuine sump)

Front wishbones with R32 bushes inc fitting £208

    Ball joints £44

    New HT leads £44

Magnecor don't fit the manifold cover properly? I thought they did?

Any advice here guys? On alternative options on my list?

  4. She flew through her MOT the other day.

But I asked the mechanic to go over the car and recommend some improvements.

I have added it to my list and now have the following list:

    1. New HT leads (anyone had experience with these)

    or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Magnecor-KV85-Ignition-HT-Leads-wire-cable-VW-Corrado-VR6-2-8i-1991-1994-AAA-/131211739792?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e8cd44290

    2. Bosch or Iridium Spark Plugs (I had Platinum ones fitted 3 years ago (6k miles so far)

    3. Oil Sump & gasket (slight leak from gasket) GSF and eBay have different brands available. Vw useless!!!(dont stock anymore)

    4. Pair of Front wishbones & R32 Bushes ready to fit kit available on ebay, although brand is Topran) not to keen on them unless you guys have used and give it the approval.

TRW & OCAP available on Euro

    Vetech on GSF

Also Meyle & others on VW Heritage

    5. Maybe ball joints aswell as Im doing the wishbones?

    6. TT Arms & Wipers - Stealers only I guess!

Taking her on the Wales Road trip. She needs to be running sweet!

Any input on my list guys...

  5. ahhh that makes sense Tan

did you manage to find the right combo?

reading this thread has me seriously thinking about the polisher you have

Its a very good rotary, your welcome to give it a trial run if you like.

  6. could i ask why you quarter the bonnet with tape?

i take it you then have to remove said tape & blend those parts?

I was trying different compounds and pads.

Then when I find the right combo, I pass over the lines to blend in.

  8. SNAP!

Just what I need aswell! New wishbones and better bushes, phoned dealers and they said genuine are no longer available! :(

I enquires about these on eBay, and seller said they are a oem part Topran (made in Germany) but Google has mixed feelings.

Some users on other forums saying cheap rubbish?

Many people used these yet? And got any feedback?
