  1. yep al my own ideas, tbh the mk3 vr6 currantly fitted has fully forged pistons, rods, the r32 hasnt , but r32 should flow better and feel better with vvt working on the ms3 ecu, its not massive performace but mk5 should hold between 15/20psi max ,if all works out well, ive not seen many mk5 , only mk4s , i hit a small issiuse with fuel line as i couldnt find a mk4 r32 one so adaptored this to this, ---------- Post added at 09:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:16 AM ---------- other things i need to do is make a alloy feul tank for the rear ,/some pipework for exhaust/ alter a few boost pipes , nothing too techical im affraid
  2. hi all ive currantly done a build on my mk1 caddy adding 4wd ,electric steering, leather seats,dash ,sunroof,conversion,along with side pipe exit,6speed 02m,gearbox ,5 paddle cermic clutch, 640cc injectors hx40 turbo, 46mm wstegate,scremer pipe,with lots of homemade parts , ill start what ive currantly built fitted bingo holding 30psi lastist engine shot evern thow its runing well i personaly wont to start over with ms3 standalone ecu as it should be a better set up and live tuning too loves eating bmw m3s,scoobys and evos ,lol next the new engine mk5 r32 tt engine so far stripped the lump , added a mk4 r32 forged crank to safe headspacer,8,5.1 modifyed some 530cc injectors, made a alloy welded manifold modifyed a mk5 fuel into a mk4 style rewired the engine for ms3x and vvt wired up added ls2 coils trail started on the floor ive got the gearbox in bits changeing ratios at mo, then need to make a exhuast turbo manifold then add hx40 turbo quick pic added a little leaf blower quick pic of the new ecu ms3x megasquirt runing on yuko ls2 coils new manifold arrived arrived and thought id do a trail fit ,all seems good,,,..but hit a issiuse didnt realise these manifolds are for t25 turbos , and mines a t3 ,, sdue to were external wastgate is shown, its in the wrong place , so that turbo intake is wrong way as well .. so bit of adapting is needed first manifold then chopped t25 flange off and welded a cast t3 flange on along with ,moving external wastegate too notice now the intakes on the left and not on right , notice were old wastegate is now , ill just make a blanking plate , so then manifold can be used both ways trail fit time fits good , also i can now not only fit a turbo either way , but also spin the intake snail 360deg for any pipe angle ,, next stripped r32 gearbox and adding tdi ratios for better cruiseing , question im not 100percent on the external wastgate as itsa 38mm? anyone really know how mutch boost i can run before boost creep
  3. ive run a fair amount of vr6 12v6s all stock , none with biggar cams so i carnt really comment, as ive turboed all ive had , i can compair a mk4 2.8 24v , it sounds and runs more smoothly then a 12v ,evern when i turbo it with no vvt , it started pulled very well, ive currantly thought id try a mk5 r32 again buy turboing via standalone , evern thow theys no camshaft profile differnce , there is a differnce with vvt system then the mk4 2.8/r32 engine , as ive currantly wired these up so i can modify the intake/exahust cams at differnert rpms what differnce and how well im unsure,, till its fitted and runing
  4. hi all as most know i currrantly run a mk1 golf caddy 4wd vr6turbo , runing on a stock modifyed loom and im having a few issiuses that i carnt seem to solve , ,,which are engine will still and idiol from cold fine with good afr, soon as the engine starts to warm up , engine will start to rev up and idiol will come down slowly , ive currantly replaced idiol valve, (x4) water temp switch(x2) tps unit/lamda sensor for a geniune one cleaned replaced throttle body done boost leak checks , all fine changed 147/109/53 relays, replaced inlet manidolf gaskets , replaced coilpack ht leads and plugs, still no joy ,, ive replaced the engine loom so then thought id recheck the ecu pinouts from 1 to 68 from a friends car , everything seems to check ok other then then the fuel pump relay was wired wrong but hasnt helped the issiuse, ive tryed my ecu on my friends car (same engine spec ) and it starts runs like a dream , dam bloody mystry,,,never know anything like it , ive also found the mk1 to mk3 has more wires on the igition , as the vr6 ecu wasnt storeing memory , (which was showing in vag.com ,yet theres no faults showning either) also added new battery.alti, too also if i unplug idiol valve engine runs really rich 10/11afr , i replug it in, revs come up and afr better i m also getting bogging out when im de accelerationg down a hill , then go to accelerate there no fuel ,(showing on afr gauge, then i get a suddern miss ,sputter and back to normal running, its back runing fine , if i unplug tps i dont get any rich afr , its like a resistance or wireing issiuse , as the engines holds pressure ? any anyone any ideas i can lastly try before i decide to rip the lot out and fit this mk5 r32 turbo on ms3x

  6. this mint have been meationed in some part of all the posts , regards fitted a 24v , ive fitted 2 not didnt use the 24v i used the 12v vr6 loom (just had no vvt contected started ran fine) then i turboed one r32 head 2.8 block with standalone runing 20psi with good results again no vvt i then alterd the camshafts so i could run the idenical timing as a 12vr6 :D and transformed the engine ive a few pictures of these on the laptop if anyone needs them , might help, if anyone prefs this way?

  8. hi all new member to this forium , but well known on others , im having idiol issiues with mk1 12v vr6 turbo engine , due to standalone issiues ive had to refit my stock chiped ecu , quick spec is 95mm maf tube obd1 4pin maf ,hx40 turbo 640cc tunie 4bar 25/30psi ive spent hours trying to work out why it dose this (ill try explain best i can :) if i go to start my car from cold or from hot ,it will always start fine but the engine revs shoot to around 3200rpm and hold for a few seconds before steadly dropping down to a rich idiol ,when then goes lumpy , ie rich then learn/rich etc , its seems ok in mid boost and hard in boost,any ideas, list of things ive replaced idiol valve 4pin maf lamda sensor ,oringal bocsh type vacum pipes fpr in fuel rail boost engine test holds 5bar before boost cap blew off turbo houseing so no silly leaks there :lol: tempture sensor alti replaced for a oringal 120amp type , ive pluged vag.com in and ive no faults showing , but have noticed the ecu isnt keeping its memory :confused4:
