  1. HI

    Hope this helps you.

Had to replace my dash clocks with a spare set I have due to a problematic fuel gauge. My spare dash clocks appeared to work perfectly with the car ticking over on the drive. I then took the car out for a drive the spoiler failed to raise at 40MPH ish.

Did a little experiment and manually raised spoiler at speed then stopped the car and spoiler stayed up.

I then repaired my original dash clocks and the spoiler returned to normal working order.

Speed signal must come from the dash clocks to spoiler control module.

  2. Hi All

I have for sale a full stainless Jetex exhaust system from front section back, with a oval 120mm pipe to fit early corrado's with a 50M chassis number. It is in very good condition and is 2.5" bore, also have some new mounting rubbers(4 rubber mounts) and 2 new VW hangers to go with it.

Buyer to collect or arrange courier service from the Newport south wales area.

Want £180 for the lot. Over £400 New.

Exhaust is a Jetex system but is marked up Fabrikat Ray on the boxes. No markings on tail pipe.

    Thanks

  3. Hi All

Recently purchased a very good corrado early(hanger type) Jetex stainless steel exhaust from down pipe back with decat pipe. Only to find that my car is the later type and should have the bar type system underneath wvwzzz50zNK chasis. Only found this out when I took off the heavily modified Miltek sport system that I have on the car to replace it with the Jetex system. The Miltek is also a hanger type system but as stated it has been modified to fit under the car and is banging underneath.

Can the early hanger type exhaust be fitted to a later car with the correct hangers purchased?

The jetex exhaust that I purchased 2nd hand didn't come with it's fitting kit.

Don't want to waste any more money and if it doesn't fit it will be up for sale.

    Thanks

    Steve

    P.S.

Forgot to mention that only reason i'm changing exhaust is that it's way too loud for me as I work shifts. And jetex have a really good name for performance without the noise.

  4. HI All

Looking to upgrade all the brake hoses on my corrado G60. I have also purchased mk4 golf calipers(alloy) and carriers to replace my standard steel rear calipers.

I have been looking for a complete hose kit that incorporates the golf mk4 upgrade and can't find one.

Does anyone know of a brake upgrade hose kit for a corrado g60 that includes golf mk4 upgrade rear calipers?

    Would prefer them in black.

    Looking to buy asap.

Also need Corrado Rear brake dust shields for both sides.

    Thanks

    Steve

  6. Hi

Just noticed your post and as a G60 owner I will try to give you some pointers.

Check service history on oil change etc. G60's like regular oil changes 6k. Check condition of oil filter and spark plugs under bonnet. Always good to see a Vw or Oem oil filter and bosch spark plugs(W6DP0 platinum expensive £30+ set of 4) Also standard air filter box with Vw Oem paper filter works best.

Check for history of work on the supercharger(overhaul etc). Bear in mind the G60 supercharger has a rubber toothed belt driven counterbalance weight. These belts made by gates are Only cheap to buy but a bit of a pain to change(charger out)so they get overlooked. And when they snap the charger will self destruct.

Usual checks on corrados' apply, both sills, look up under drivers rear wheel arch(rust trap behind fuel filler) double check inside car pull back carpet in boot, when in boot also check for original Vw sticker inside rear valance, And make sure everything works. Sunroofs are prone to failure, And also with all the rain lately check floor carpets for wetness.

    Happy hunting

  7. Hi All

After some advice on a good pair of rear shock absorbers to fit my corrado g60:g60: 1991?

The car is used on a variety of roads(a/b and motorways). The car currently is lowered I think 30mm on apex springs. The rear shocks are cheap and can't make out the brand and are well old.

Don't want to lower it too much as the roads in south wales are absolutely useless! So springs will be kept.

I have Koni sport top adjustable at the front with the same apex springs(yellow on yellow).

Anyway what would you guys recommend?

Should I stick with the koni sports and shell out £150 a pair for the rears?(within budget), or is there an alternative make that someone has used and can recommend?

    Thanks

    Steve

  8. Hi All

Just ordered some Osram nightbreakers (unlimited H4 bulb twin pack) from eurocarparts for only £12 delivered use promo code renew30.

Also ordered some bosch platinum plugs for my G60 should have been £47.52 with code £33.28.

Thought i'd post up this code as the chill30 code doesn't give you discount on the bulbs.

    Happy shopping

  10. Thanks for post

Looking at hirschmann aerials there are some on Egay check out item number 380394350703.

Compared to stealer prices they seem a bargain at £37. Look Oem also Hirschmann aerials are very good had one fitted to my Mk1 golf many years ago(wing mount).

    Very good reception.

Does anyone know if they fit?

  11. My rear window is a nightmare ! Front screen sometimes,

Been over the car with a fine tooth comb,no leaks, dry as a bone !!

Have noticed a lot of cars in car parks the same as me,but in 12 years of ownership, this seems the worst year for it.

I've just put it down to our crazy weather

    Hi

Have you checked up under the drivers' side rear wheel arch (around the fuel flap mechanism area) for rust/holes? My first corrado rusted bad in that area causing water to enter the boot area and would mist up the rear screen very badly.

  12. Hi All

Thanks for replies. But just to clarify I need a new base as well as a new aerial. The base unit amplifier is u/s, and the radio reeception is very poor. So looking to replace the whole aerial system. Has anyone replaced their aerial with a VW/Audi Oe shark fin? If so can you please post up a picture.

    Thanks

    Steve

  13. Hi All.

Would like to change the roof mounted bee sting aerial on my Corrado as the reception is useless with amplified signal cable plugged in or out.

It currently has the original amplified type.

Can't make up my mind at moment do I stick with the standard bee sting look or upgrade to a nice Oe Vw/Audi sharkfin type aerial.

Has any one changed their aerial for an aftermarket one? And more importantly do they work better than standard?

Please post up your pictures showing what you got.

At moment I can't decide between a Hirschmann bee sting and an OE VW/Audi look sharkfin(both amplified).

Also what size is the mounting hole for a standard Vw aerial base?

    Thanks

    Steve
