front grill and rear vw badges in black? *pic update*

the vw roundell ones...

 

are these easy to remove,had a quick look at the rear one,looks like it should just pop out?

 

what about the grill one?

 

in fact,are they available in black?

or ill remove and paint them tommorow (today :? )

Get them in black from gpc for £5 each or spray yours. Back one pulls out(2 rubber gromets hold it in) For the front just take your grill out and unclip from behind. Just done mine and looks better !

A 90 spec MK2 black one fits if you struggle to find a C one.

 

With the rear badge, go easy when putting it in with the new clips as you can easily indent the back panel if you push too hard. I've been there!

cheers kev,i painted em both today,bit of a rush job though,and in black pearl? :oops: .

 

i did push the back one pretty hard! to make sure it sat flush,ill have to check tommorow if ive bent the panel! :shock:

With the rear badge, you are best off putting the blue grommets into the body work first (they are a bit tight to push in but should kinda click into place when they get there) then push the rear badge on and it will sit properly flush.

 

If you do it the other way round (put the grommets on the badge and then try and push the whole lot in) it doesnt work properly and your badge will still be a bit loose and will also potentially let in a little water when it rains.

Where did you get the G60 badge ? I thought they were no longer available ?!

Oh ! I know him well too ! What i did wonder was do the earlier (more slats in grille) G60 grille badges have different clips ?? Just that the gap looks so small ?

Have I gone boss eyed or is your rear numberplate a bit on the p***? it looks a bit higher on the right to me!!

i just threw it back on after 'colour coding the plastic screw cover on the plate'........with a marker pen :lol:

 

holes are big enough to get it straight,ill be on it tommorow straight away 8)
