VEEDUBBED 0 Posted March 6, 2005 Hello all, Does any one know if the rear 5 bolt hubs of a Golf 3 gti 16v bolt up to the rear axle of a corrado fitted with 4 bolt hubs?, I know VR6 hubs will but VR6 golfs/corrados are ultra rare over here in Rome.Thanks-Andrew. CoxyLaad 0 Posted March 7, 2005 lol if its any help I had 5stud rears on my mk2 VR, they are just part of the rear disc, and they bolt straight up keep smiling :D
Henny 0 Posted March 8, 2005 problem is that it's quite a specific question that not many people will know the answer to VEEDUBBED :? I thought that only the VR6 MKIII golfs were 5 stud? Why not just order some VR6 Corrado rear brake disks and bearings from VW? They should be able to get them and they are pretty reasonable cost wise as well as being a straight bolt on fit... 8)
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted March 8, 2005 Ok heres the deal, we've only got a few VW spares places over here in Rome Henny, wanna laugh(or cry..) get this-2 rear hubs from local Stealer+ Discs=390euros,I just bought a compleat 2000cc 16valver for 500euros... with A/C,Leather etc. I'll go to my mate's breakers and get them off a golf 3 gti 16valver cost 80euros. Thanks anyway,Andrew.
rolex 0 Posted March 9, 2005 sorry to jump in here VEEDUBBED, but Henny is it just a case of getting 4x vr6 c rear disc and bearings. and thats it, fit straight on to each corner job done..........five stud here we come!!
Henny 0 Posted March 9, 2005 rolex, no. that won't work for the front wheels... It's dead simple to change the rears to 5 stud, but the fronts is a whole hell of a lot more work...
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 9, 2005 The GTI/16V/VR6 all shared the 5x100 'plus' running gear from 1995 on I believe.... only very early non-VR6 MK3s had 4 stud.

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 9, 2005 Are you sure? I've defo seen MK3 GTIs with 4x100 mate....but VR6s always had the 'plus' running gear.
vr6storm 0 Posted March 9, 2005 Are you sure? I've defo seen MK3 GTIs with 4x100 mate....but VR6s always had the 'plus' running gear. aye..........all mk3 GTI/GTI16v/VR6's from launch had the plus suspension..........perhaps it was a mk3 driver tarted up to look like a GTI that you've seen.....the only change from 1995(August) was the upgrade to 288mm brakes for the 96 M/Y
