potatonet 0 Posted April 3, 2005 ok being that no one looks at the other sections for posting very often, IE steering.... I thought I would pose the question here. I have a 90 G60 US SPEC and am wondering if a 93 canadian spec VR6 corrado steering rack will work in my car. easy quesiton. thanks guys
VR6 0 Posted April 3, 2005 Doesn't work like that I'm afraid. Moving to Drivetrain. I know where you're coming from, but you will find that most people use the 'view posts since last visit' feature or most recent posts via the portal. Sorry about that, but we can't make exceptions, so I hope you can appreciate where we're coming from.

dr_mat 0 Posted April 3, 2005 Corrado VR6 got the Golf 3 GTi/VR front "plus" steering/suspension. The earlier Corrados used the Golf 2 setup...
potatonet 0 Posted April 4, 2005 great so a golf 2 rack would work, like one from a
davidwort 0 Posted April 4, 2005 great so a golf 2 rack would work, like one from a 90 don't think so, there are loads of different part numbers for racks and I think most of the golfs will have different ratio's to the Corrado, don't think any of the passats have the same ones either, you need to make sure you have the same suffix letter(s) on the part number as yours. Mike Edwards 0 Posted April 4, 2005 A LHD rack for Chassis No. up to 50-N-011 487 uses the same rack as the 16v Golf/Jetta/Vento from 1986 to 1992. From Chassis No. 50-N-011 488 on it's Corrado-specific.

VEEDUBBED 0 Posted April 10, 2005 Watch also the make of rack, TRW or ZF?, there may be differences concerning ratios between the two. Also earlier types had 36 Splines whilst later one's had 22 on the output shaft.
