biggerbigneil 0 Posted April 18, 2005 Just dreaming with my week off..... Second one down, even cooler than a Shelby GT 500 *Mod edit - Man, that was a long link - Henny* I was thinking about a TVR Chimera 4.0 as these are around 10k and not too bad to maintain compared the 4.5 and 5.0. Porsche 928 S4/GTS 1990 ish Porsche 968 Club Sport Get the Corrado 4x4 and turbo the VR6..... E30 M3 0r 1988 M5 (E38?) Audi TT 225 + RS Body kit so it doesn't look gay! Jim 2 Posted April 18, 2005 I'd love something powerful like an Audi S4.. but reality means i'm a long way away from owning something like that. So MK4 Golf or something similar is up next for me.
dinkus 10 Posted April 18, 2005  for the Mustang 8) I need to own a silly car with a V8 in at some stage in my life.

G-Lader 0 Posted April 18, 2005 anyone know how to tell the diff. between a TT 4x4 180 and the TT 4x4 225? Thanks
blackcat 0 Posted April 18, 2005 I did quite fancy a impreza at one point but they're really common now. When I'm 25 (and can afford the insurance) I'm going to sell my 1.8 16v and get a VR6 corrado.
2cc 0 Posted April 18, 2005 at my age, probably a wheel chair
jedi-knight83 0 Posted April 18, 2005 the 180 normally has a single exhaust pipe although some customers paid to upgrade to the twin exit. 225 have the twin exit as standard... as far as i know thats the only difference. as for cars.. well i went from corrado to S3... handles better than the 'stodgy' TT next im looking at either a Boxter S or a Porsche 993 C4S Id steer clear of the TVR unless its the 350R.. they all tend to fall apart
corradostorm 0 Posted April 18, 2005 If things go well this year the Corrado is being replaced with a Griffith
DEL VR6 0 Posted April 18, 2005 this is one of my all time "wanted" cars. One day!!!!!!!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 18, 2005 some customers paid to upgrade to the twin exit. And Audi 'engineered' in that kind of extra unnecessary spending deliberately. Their market research people are clearly doing their job well as the UK is full of the sort of people that will gladly pay for this upgrade to avoid other folk thinking they bought the poverty spec car. Audi is high in the popularity stakes at the moment among all the wannabes and 21st century yuppies (yes, they're coming back) and people are buying them for the wrong reasons. They think a TT body over a MK4 Golf floor with a Haldex pretend 4WD system is a 'sports' car. Among the marketing tools, there are a few gems though....the S3 and S4, the RS6 etc but I think Audi have lost touch with their sporting heritage in recent years though. jedi-knight83 0 Posted April 18, 2005 Exactly Kev... i was gonna write that but couldnt work out how to explain it in so few words.. its clever audi offering all those extras for base spec cars. you still thinking of getting an S3 next then kev? davidwort 0 Posted April 18, 2005 anyone know how to tell the diff. between a TT 4x4 180 and the TT 4x4 225? Thanks I think the 225's have two charge coolers one on the left and one on the right, the lower power ones only have one on the right (drivers side). If I'm reading ETKA right the 225's have the engine codes APX or BAM, the other possible TT engines are AJQ AUQ APP ARY and AUM, AUM and AUQ are used on the mk4 golf so I reckon are the 150 and 180bhp ones. Not sure where the codes are on the car, I'd imagine cam cover and boot sticker like other VAG cars. David.
mrbeige 0 Posted April 18, 2005 Seat Leon Cupra......when I graduate!! (Still keep the Corrado though...8))
corradophil 3 Posted April 18, 2005 I'm currently driving my Corrado and my Seat, which has an AUQ 180 BHP engine. Planning to sell both and get an A3 1.8t. My dream car is a Black Porsche similar to the one in bad boys.
biggerbigben 0 Posted April 18, 2005 TVR Cerbera 4.5 or Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-SPEC would be next on the cards for me...
gibber 0 Posted April 18, 2005 Ice been looking Audi RS4's, not gietting rid of the VR tho just the golf!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 18, 2005 Exactly Kev... i was gonna write that but couldnt work out how to explain it in so few words.. its clever audi offering all those extras for base spec cars. Yip...it's all about maximising profits to Audi and making it 'look like' the customer is getting a lot in return, when they're not. The exhaust being a classic. It costs Audi nothing to lose a back box and fit a single cutout bumper instead of a twin as the car will have been designed with both exhausts from the outset, so already 'budgeted' for....but it costs the customer dearly to have those put back on again, all extra profit for Audi and more credibility on the street for the image concious....it's a mad world  you still thinking of getting an S3 next then kev? I think I'm finialising my choices to that or a 4Motion golf. The reason for the latter is it can be supercharged cheaply and easily for big, smooth V6 power. I'm not liking the Haldex though. I'd disconnect it if possible but I'll have to live with it....in both instances. I am thinking also that an S4 is FAR better value than the S3 and has the traditional Audi North/South engine layout that I like and a proper Quattro drivetrain. Whitedog 0 Posted April 18, 2005 anyone know how to tell the diff. between a TT 4x4 180 and the TT 4x4 225? Thanks IIRC the 225 BHP one has a plastic mesh effect on the lower rear bumper in between the two exhausts. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong. jedi-knight83 0 Posted April 18, 2005 kevhaywire, why are you so set against Haldex? you could always fit an aftermarket Haldex controler to give you a constant 50/50 split. the s4 does sound good though but the MPG of that beast rules it out for me at the mo
