Blue_Joe 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Well I've had enough of lies and lack of work being done. I put my car into Pro-Tune in Stafford over 7 weeks ago for a FMIC conversion, oil cooler and custom enlarged throttle body. I that time the sum totla of work done includes - Ordered an Intercooler from Forge Motorsport Ordered an Oil Cooler Romoved Headlights and Front Bumper etc Fitted Sandwich Plate for Oil Cooler Started to cut the Front cross member to fit the Intercooler Took 3 weeks to find a G60 radiator (Took me 15mins!!!!) Ordered Blue silicone hoses after 7 weeks (I specifically requested Red Hoses to match the coolant hoses from Samco that are RED!) as SFS said it was a 4 week wait for Red Hoses THATS IT!!!!!!! The whole time they have had the car they've basically done nothing except give me excuses that are in the same league that I used to use when I was 8 and hadn't done my school homework! Ooo Forgot they then proceeded to call me a Wan**r when they thought that they had put the phone down (Next time wait for the click!!!) this was after I rang them back to say that Blue Silicone hoses were not to go on my car and that I had rang SFS Hoses and Highbury Hoses and both had told me 4 days. I know that I can be an awkward customer (g-man and beavis I'm sure will agree here  ) But the car is my pride and joy and I jsut want everything done right!!! Well either later today or tomorrow I am going up with a friend with a transporter to remove the car from the premises. Should be FUN!!!! :2gunfire: :agrue: After speaking to MOTEC in Birmingham (more Local, Well Respected Japanese Tuning Shop) said that if I get the car to them they will measure up themselves order the silicone hoses and once they have arrived 3-4 days to complete the job. I'll keep you all updated to how I get on with them!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 20, 2005 Ooo Forgot they then proceeded to call me a Wan**r when they thought that they had put the phone down ( I'd have been straight down to their workshop, thrown £50 on the floor to cover the 7 weeks of Feck all they'd done and driven the car out of there.....and straight into Stealth's workshop. Get your girl outta there asap!

Blue_Joe 0 Posted April 21, 2005 Well the saga at Pro-Tune concluded this afternoon. I went up there this afternoon and the car still was not being worked on but was sat just inside the garage and teh owner was working on another car. I informed him that I had given him enough time to finish the car and that I was unhappy with it and was going to remove my car. I offered (to be amicable - as I'm genrally a nice guy!!!) to pay for the parts that had been ordered providing I could take them with me. He then told me that I didn't need to take it away as he had ordered the Red hosing and it would be there in a couple of days. I then said that unfortunatly due to past record I couldn't trust him and still was going to remove the car. To which he then darted in the workshop and dropped the roller shutter and padlocked it. I swiftly followed in to get to my car. I was asked to leave the garage and return at the end of the day to collect the car. Obviously I refused and stated I understood the Health adn Safety aspect but was unwilling to leave my car unattended. He then said if I didn't leave he would call the police. To which I answered to save him the phone bill I would call them - and so I did. Basically the police turned up and I gave a full statement of the whole saga. The owner said that I was trying to intimidate him into giving me the car as I had brought Stevemac and a recovery wagon driver. The Police then asked him why I couldn't have my car, he said this was because he was too busy working on another car and I could get it later. Plus his partner had put the bits away and he didn't know where they were. I said I wasn't happy to leave my car unattended and they agreed and told him to roll up the shutter and I could roll it out myself. So the car came out!!!! He then went back to work on the other car, so the police then informed him that it would be easier on him and Police time if he stopped being awkward and went and fetched the parts and settled up. So he did!!!! He then put the bill together and once he was ready to show me the bill, the police informed both of us that the settlement of bills and handover of money was NOT a Police matter and they would not enforce the payment of bills as it was a civil matter. If I disagreed with the bill I could leave with my car and parts (including all the new ones - Forge Motorsport Intercooler, Oil Cooler, new radiator and other related parts!!!!!!) and he could chase payment though legal channels! I however to be fair and amicable paid for the intercooler and otehr parts and dropped my car off at another garage that are starting work on it tomorrow!!!! Just glad to have my car out of there now!!!!!!!

Supercharged Junkie 0 Posted April 22, 2005 Nice one, Glad you got it sorted...Think i`ve upset every garage within 5miles of me, its not much to ask for the work to be carried out as asked, instead of my car sitting outside the garage allday :-) Only deal with one garage locally and anything supercharger or tuning wise i go to G-Werks, can`t go wrong with Daz work
Rustynuts 0 Posted April 22, 2005 It makes you realise that having a good local VW specialist is important. I use http://www.vwrescue.co.uk, if your a midlands person and need somebody reliable and knowlegable as well as an enthusiast (ask him about what he is doing to a Golf synchro!) you can't go wrong.
