khurrado 0 Posted May 2, 2005 the most disgusting intermittent scraping noise ever, coming fornt the fornt of the car. May be the calipers i dont know??? but it kinds sounds like metal scraping, and metal scraping and clanging on the floor as well. nothing hanging loose though??? And now my car wont start as well?????
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted May 2, 2005 Doubt the starting is connected. What have you done to the brakes recently?
gradeAfailure 0 Posted May 2, 2005 Yeah, I'd have said check the brake pads...
khurrado 0 Posted May 2, 2005 nothing at all, although my cars recovering from a minor accident, and the sound came after goin over a speed bump, and scraping the splitter quite badly. id take it to a garage but cash is tight right now.
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted May 2, 2005 Clanging sounds more like a steering/suspension linkage loose/broken. My guess would be track rod end... not obvious to see but clunks on bumps. Or... checked your wheel nuts recently?
khurrado 0 Posted May 2, 2005 yeh i have, it was a really harsh sraping squeeking sound, its intermittent, but not that often, and after harsh braking it stopped....my mates g60 has same prob, and he was told caliper. My pads and sdiscs are fine although after the accident, my suspension has had numerous probs thanks to RMS garage in raynes park, who charge you for work they have no idea wtf they are doing..... Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted May 2, 2005 headlight washers....nice :offtopic: Comes with a 7-litre water bottle too. I fill my car's water about once every year... lol
khurrado 0 Posted May 2, 2005 nice...i like the rear clusters as well, saw a set on ebay yesterday. Im thinking off going for either all red or heavily tinted....my cs bordeuax, and i just think the m3 rear clusters look a bit tacky on the colour. corradostorm 0 Posted May 2, 2005 Warped discs? I've the same on the VR. Most braking is off motorways so regular *incriminating post edit* - quite swift to 0 stops.
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted May 2, 2005 That's km/h, obviously ;)
corradostorm 0 Posted May 3, 2005 Er.. . yes, of course. I've also got a private motorway, oviously.
