Shaggy 0 Posted August 2, 2005 since i first got my corrado g60 a year ago i have noticed that the gearchange has got slightly worse in that its quite a bit notchy and sometimes doesnt even go into gear properly, is it just a case of adjusting the cables? is this hard? can anyone give me an idea on how to adjust? Neil VR6 0 Posted August 3, 2005 Could well be adjustment. There is a special VW tool/jog type thing that will allow you to adjust the cable shift perfectly. Obviously a Stealer will have this but VW specialists might too. You may also want to replace the oil in the 'box as this will also dramatically affect the shift quality. h100vw 0 Posted August 3, 2005 Try checking th emech under the bonnet. Mine was dry as a bone on my Golf and stopped shifting into any gear. a quick squirt of grease and it was cured. Gavin
Shaggy 0 Posted August 4, 2005 the mech under the bonnet seems fine, can i adjust the cable without the jig? or is this a bad idea? Regards

ben16v 0 Posted August 4, 2005 You dont need a special tool to adjust the gearlinkage.

kongo127 0 Posted August 13, 2005 Take a look at your engine mounts. This will affect the gear cables tension/distance between the shifter and the gearbox. I found mine in very bad shape! I am sure that it´s causing a deffo gear change as i´m feeling the engine wobbling aswell. I´m going to replace all engine mounts this week. I´ll leave some info then. 8)

Supercharged 2 Posted August 15, 2005 cubed, if you push the lever straight fwd does it go into 3rd? Yeah, oil change will help (use redline MT90 - demon tweeks) also a handfull of grease onto the mech (where the weight is ontop of gearbox) will also help no end...
