olly elworthy 0 Posted September 22, 2005 looks good whats the spec of your car?
Henny 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Nice... what mods have you done? That dip at 5500rpm looks like it could do with sorting though... I think this is normally the sign that the hall sender's not 100% happy... :?
olly elworthy 0 Posted September 22, 2005 or sns chip making the car go really rich as the stock injectors go static?
bix 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Spec: l&s cartec rsr charger(not great I think), 68mm pulley, red tops, schrick 268/276, sns s5 chip(could do with mapping i think), golf fmic, k&n panel filter, milltek. Think the plugs and lead are past there best, but dunno if this would cause the dip? Would have put the 65mm pulley on if I was planning on getting a power run done, but I only went to get wheel alignment done, couldnt resist the dyno :) steering is soo much smoother now and it goes in a str8 line :-P
Ronan 0 Posted September 22, 2005 What am i missing? In the owners manual it says G's are 225lb/ft as standard!! Looks good tho, nice power curve.
steveo29 0 Posted September 22, 2005 mine had a big ol dull spot around 5k...seems the chip was way rich there
bix 0 Posted September 22, 2005 What am i missing? In the owners manual it says G's are 225lb/ft as standard!! Looks good tho, nice power curve. I think you'll find thats Nm (newton(100g) meters), which aint lb/ft

bix 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Cheers 8) I think the dip around 5.5k is where the supercharger belt starts slipping :|
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 22, 2005 Slippage never a good thing.... how's your dizzy? I hear a worn one can cause a power dip at 5500rpm, Henny and GMan/Pitstop will know more on that....
bix 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Yeah having said that, you can hear the belt slip at about 4.7k, but looking on the mfa I think the boost did drop off a bit around 5-5.5k so thats prolly what it is.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 22, 2005 Is there any way of tightening the belt? You mean the serpentine, or the internal one? Sorry, my G Lader knowledge is limited... but I have read on a few occasions about an unexplained power cut at 5500rpm being caused by a worn distributor. Not saying that's your problem for sure, but it's worth looking at :-)
Supercharged 2 Posted September 22, 2005 Shorter belt for a smaller pulley, also check the state of the tensioning strut.
bix 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Yeah I have a smaller belt, tensioner is ok too, even tried packing the spring down a bit, didnt seem to make a lot of difference :|
bix 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Yeah the serpentine belt, be in trouble if the internal on slipped :?
Riley 0 Posted September 22, 2005 just looking at the plot again, does it produce power right upto 6300ish? rpm? is that not really good going for a g? mines flat as a fart after 5k :? but the dizzy bussiness sounds a possability...
NickVR6 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Nice figures mate. The torque figures from the Gs allways make me wonder whether i should have bought one instead of the vr, that eternal question! When the noise tingle dies i'll prob think a bit more! Will henny get his RR'd, i'd love to see the figures on that puppy?
