Fuel gauge

Recommended Posts

My fuel gauge works fine except for it dropping when accelerating and also bounces when I go over bumps, is there anything which should stabilise the guage?

I unscrewed the hatch in the boot last night, but all feels secure.. Is this where I should be looking for the pump?

ifits secure in the boot, it could be a problem with the gauges itself, like the needle not on the pin properly?

My C's petrol gauge has always gone down when accelerating!

I think it uses petrol when running????

Only kidding! :)

My guage fluctuates wildly under acceleration and braking, going uphill/downhill, round corners or stopped on a slope!

Always assumed it was one of those quirky things about the c.

just keep it full!

I don't think the gauge would react that quickly if the sender was dodgy. I'd be looking more at the gauge damping.

I had a problem similiar on my 106, when on a slope or going over bumps the gauge would change, and turned out to be a faulty sender.

If everything is secure then id tie it down to the sender tbh.
