flusted 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Got my g conversion running today and found that the downpipe blows like mad from flexi joint. Can i simply undo cat flange and manifold flange and pull it out down the bottom or do i have to remove inlet manifold etc?
Andy665 0 Posted June 29, 2006 When mine was replaced by JMR it looked like it would be very difficult to do without removing inlet manifold - one of those jobs I'm glad someone else was doing
Henny 0 Posted June 29, 2006 you can undo the downpipe from the manifold from below and inside the engine bay. Then undo the 3 bolts from the cat/downpipe joint and you should be able to wiggle the old downpipe out.... I've had to do this several times due to using crap copper nuts to hold the downpipe on which melted...  If you find it REALLY doesn't want to play, then you can just drop the rear subframe down slightly on a trolley jack to give you enough clearance... that's how you install 4 branch manifold/downpipes, so that'll DEFINATELY give you enough room!
