Shaggy 0 Posted July 6, 2006 Can somebody tell me what would happen if the 1m long ecu vacuum pipe was either too short or too long?? I have heard of leaks in the system but what would happen if the pipe not at the correct length? WOuld this play havoc with the ecu? Cheers
flusted 0 Posted July 6, 2006 i guess so yes,as it would register more or less vacuum or boost. I remember using different lengths of pipe on my actuator on my metro turbo to increase the boost

Supercharged Junkie 0 Posted July 6, 2006 I had one that was 10cm too short and it made a difference when i got the correct length pipe on there :-)
Shaggy 0 Posted July 6, 2006 It just occured to me last night that if i am at the limit of my map sensor at 15 psi that a shorter ecu vacuum would effect my car more than others as i am making greater boost. i am going to conduct an experiment tonight and put on a new vacuum pipe which is exactly 1m long and see what the old one measures. :-)
Shaggy 0 Posted July 6, 2006 just measured my one, its 25mm longer than it should be @ 1025mm?? Anyone know what the correct Internal Diameter should be?
Crasher 3 Posted July 6, 2006 The odd thing is that the original pipe from new was rarley 1000mm, often much shorter!
