double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 3300 fitted and mapped, including aquamist and a 6-branch manifold. Not bad at all. This month only apparently.
CoxyLaad 0 Posted March 21, 2007 what does that include? and is that solely for the VR? and what spec rotrex are they using?
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 C30-94 (not one of them dodgy old rotrex's with the old style oil wotsit ;) ) Bracket, pulley, belt, etc etc Oil reservoir and lines All samco pipes Red tops 6-branch Recirc valve Auquamist Fitting Mapping (with MAF as he said the rotrex is too badass to go MAFless?) Anything else needed that I've forgotten.
CoxyLaad 0 Posted March 21, 2007 pah! mine has the super duper front mounted oil cooler, not yer cheap naff cost cutting reservoir with fins on it lol sounds like a good deal mind. wonder how much it will end up cost me for all the bits....
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 lol :) The only expensive bit you need is the bracket from what I can make out? I reckon you could get one made for about 60 or 80 quid tbh. The charger's are expensive - the only place I've seen doing them on their own are knocking them out for 1600 quid plus shipping and maybe a bit more tax! So 3300 for the whole lot with aqua and a 6-branch & redtops is pretty darn good I reckon.
CoxyLaad 0 Posted March 21, 2007 you will have to let me know what its manners are like
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 Will do. I'm hoping for 'barely contained rage' tbh :)
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 So do ya reckon leave the shrek on or what? What about selling it and getting one of those schimmel short runners for less money?
KADVR6 0 Posted March 21, 2007 i think i will have to travel down, and have a go in the black beast when its got the rotrex on Will 8) if it was me, i would sell the schrick, and get the schimmel manifold mate. much more responsive at take off, plus been told, more torque than a schrick when using a charger. and that sounds like a very very good deal £3300. karl
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 So it would be more responsive with the short-runner intake mate? Is that cos of less volume of air to 'move around' or what? I don't understand the SR intakes at all. Did you end up getting a C2 one and a chargecooler mate?
KADVR6 0 Posted March 21, 2007 sorry Will, but what cams you running at the moment?? if they are not FI cams?? sell them aswell as the shrek, and get a chargecooler fitted also?? these look like good value. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Water-to-Air-Turb ... dZViewItem karl
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 Yeah I've got shrick 268's in at the moment mate. What cams do I need dude? Standard or 248's or something?
KADVR6 0 Posted March 21, 2007 i have the chargecooler as above sitting in the garage mate, along with ARP bolts, but the C2 manifold does not fit in the rado, so gotta do some saving for the schimmel. :( as for cams i'm sure its the 248's for FI, or even standards will do the job fine.. StormchargedVR6 0 Posted March 21, 2007 Im going down the schimmel route, its the only way forward :) Got my 15psi pulley ready  yeh cheers for reminding me Shaun :( you beat me to that pulley didn't ya Sorry bud :) Just remember with short runner you need slim line fan, and the cooler you need to put your battery in boot.
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 Battery not a problem. But you have to change the fans? How come? And how much?
StormchargedVR6 0 Posted March 21, 2007 Battery not a problem. But you have to change the fans? How come? And how much? Short runner won't fit, you only need one 11''spal fan. There about £60, get one on ebay. Thats what im going to be using
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 And is it a straight swap? Anything else need changing fan-wise?
StormchargedVR6 0 Posted March 21, 2007 And is it a straight swap? Anything else need changing fan-wise? Just bit of wiring. If your going charger mate you better getting an oil cooler too. Sorry bud just seen you got one
double-6s 0 Posted March 21, 2007 Got one already dude :)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 23, 2007 So it would be more responsive with the short-runner intake mate? Is that cos of less volume of air to 'move around' or what? I don't understand the SR intakes at all. It's because the throttle is close to the head - less distance for the air to travel. For forced induction, the smaller the plenum size, the better, again because it's a shorter distance into the cylinders which reduces lag. What boost are SD going to run your kit at? Are they dropping the compression? No mention of inter/chargecooling though? Do they still need the car for 5 days?
double-6s 0 Posted March 23, 2007 Think it's 10 psi. No inter/charge - aquamist only at present. Dunno. :)
