VR6 - Buzz coming from back right of engine....

im new to the VR6 scene and when im igniton is on, there is a buzz coming from the back right of the engine as you look at it from the front of the car, it sounds like a fule pump priming but its on the engine?

 

Any ideas what it could be?

I know the part you mean. I'm afraid that, ignoramus that I am, I don't know what it is. However, mine does this too and doesn't seem to be a cause for concern!

Its a run on electric water pump mate , nowt to worry about , its supposed to that ;-)

Yep it's the coolant run on pump Neil, i heard it the other day when i had a look around it.

It does make a bit more noise than usual.

Ill look into it and see if its a costly job!

Just keeo an eye on it. Look for any coolant residue on the hoses/connections.

 

If you end up changing it, it's an easy one :wink: When I did mine it was around £55 from the dealer.

Mine's also died recently (makes a horrible plasticy grindy noise) and am awaiting a call from the yokel stealers to see how much a replacement will be...
