lose pipe in my engine bay, is it supposed to be like this?

Recommended Posts

I noticed when putting my vr6 back together at the weekend I noticed that there was a pipe near the back of the engine that wasnt connected to anything. It goes along the top of the engine (near the scuttle) from the drivers side to the passenger. Its push clipped in along near the HT leads. Its not connected to anything and I was wondering if it should?

Is it a breather pipe? The engine appears to be running fine.

Any ideas?

thanks

Yeah that pipe should connect to the brake servo hose. There's a couple of accessory outlets under the coilpack above the gearbox, push it onto one.

The other end connects to the PCV breather valve that comes off the rocker cover.

Stealth did this when Crazy Marcel owned the car because his is an early one and just had a straight pipe from the rocker to intake, rather than the PCV valve that later cars got. Reason being his was sucking in too much oil and oiling up the plugs, that little mod got round the problem.

If i can figure it out I willpost a pic,but I will be guessing so might want to get some one to double check before copying me!!

Why does my car have a coilpack if its has other early engine parts, must be a bit of a mongrel engine!!
